I really want to get one of these trees. I hope it would grow in our garden; I think it might, because I found one last year in the Sunken Gardens. This one was flowering in the fabulous McBryde/National Tropical Botanical Garden on the island of Kauai. First I need to find out what it's called--I think it may be a type of bauhinia. Anybody know?

Howdy there Robin
That there sure is a fine looking tree. It looks like it could be a Erthrina Ianata, to me. But it has been a few years, that I've been to Hawaii.

Robin I don't know very many names for plants that are not native to Texas. This one sure would look nice in the Texas landscape. Ceil just came to look and she does not know. Sorry we could not help. When you find out let us know.
