9 Comments on The Good Ole Days Part 2-Baker Home Inspection Eyes For Today
The good ole days...Hummmmm.. I was thinking just the other day about this. I recalled, as a child of about 10 or 11 we were outside playing and it got really hot, 110degrees, and we came into the house to cool off, we laid on the wood floor directly under the downflow of the swampcooler that we had back then. I love the modern air conditioners. LOL.
Dale,
Interesting memories. I did not have that here. I remember the milkman, but not the iceman. My earlies memories include refers.
Hi Dale, Thanks for the memories. When I was growing up some people still called a refrigerator an "icebox."
Howdy there Gail, Shirley, Steven
Glad to have all three of you stop by to visit, and leave a comment. On this here post' at my little ole Blogging Homestead, my friends
Gail - They sure were some good ole days. I also remember Swamp coolers, got to work on a lot of them in the pass.
Steven - The iceman was always a real welcome sight, when he came to dev. ice.
Shirley - your welcome, I remember when we got our refrigerator. I asked my dad where the iceman was going to put that big peace of ice at in it. lol
Dale Ceil says she remembers the ice man delivering blocks of ice each morning. They had long tongs and brought it into the back porch and dropped in a box. I remember the swampcoolers, we thought back then that was greatest. Oh how things have changed and we are so spoiled. My mom that is 92 still calls it the ice box.
Howdy there Carl and Ceil
Real glad to have stop by to visit, and to read your comment. On any of the post's, when you visit. Here at my little ole Blogging Homestead, my friends
Those sure were some real fine times, back then. We had a couple of those long ice tongs at the house. I've got to work on a lot of them there swampcoolers. Back when I worked on mobile homes.
When I was in elementary school, I remember when the local dairy stopped its home delivery service. You don't know how good you've got it 'til its gone! (Too young for the glass bottles though) LOL
I remember when the Lone Star convenience store on the corner opened and sold milk in a glass gallon jug/Price was 2 gallons for a $1.00.
Howdy there Kent, Carl and Ceil
Glad to have the three of ya, stop by to visit for a bit, and to have Y'all leave a fine comment as always. On one of my post's, here at my little ole Blogging Homestead, my friends
Kent - my mom and dad, for the longges time had me believing a cow would leave the milk at our front door. Untill one day I seen the milkman. LOL Those sure some fun days.
Carl and Ceil - You sure can't buy milk for that anymore, thats for sure. Just like we can't buy gas for ten cent's a gallon anymore. Our gas has been going back up again.
Carl and Ceil - what do Y'all think of these Milk Bottles?
