Hi Debi--The Napa Valley is sooooo lovely this time of year!  I love how all the plants cycle thru their times, but I especially love the lupine!  In Truckee, the snow is really melting, but I haven't seen any real hints of green popping up yet...

Hannah--To see these in person is amazing!  Talk about taking your breath away!  The time of day makes a big difference to.  The evening before I took these, the light was just right and the depth of color was surreal.

Thanks Ann--I love having the Napa springs balanced by the Tahoe springs or is it vice-versa?

Look at those really nice thank you for those pictures. The color that is spread throughout the field looks beautiful. Its amazing what nature does on its own.

Hi Robert--Yes, the picture was taken last Friday in Napa County as I was driving back to Tahoe.  I am very spoiled--living between the best of both worlds!

Tamara,

Like the rolling terrain, the purple ground cover, the richness, and the lighting. :)

Hi Ms Camera-Tamara:  I love this flower (are lupine and lupin the same, I think they are).  Anyway, I remember them when we were traveling and enjoying the purple carpet that went on and on.  Beautiful picture...you're right you live in the best of both worlds.

Tamara

Those are really intoxicating scenes. Reminds me of the big patches of Blue Bonnets here in Texas.

That is very cool.... Not often you see a field of flowers like that, most people would spread week killer because you cant see the grass!

Steve--You should see it this week!  I am now back in Napa and on the drive in yesterday, the purple was even more intense!  The lighting was different as it was earlier in the day.  I nearly ran off the road!

Hi Gail--I think you're right.  The carpets here are amazing, and now there are CA poppies poking up in some of these fields and some great big yellow flowers too (some might call them weeds...)  There is also a new kind of purple flower coming up too.  I need to find out what that is.... so much research, so little time!

Trey, Intoxicating is a good description.  I nearly drove off the road when I saw the more intense color this week!

Robert--Unfortunate but true!  I'm told there are a lot of environmental benefits of not having a lawn (and using the chemicals).  Not to mention, a whole lot less mowing! ;-)

Tamara, Robert made a statement about mowing his grass... we should go to his home stand out front with cocktail and wipe his brow while he sweats.... LOL...

GREAT picture we have Texas blue bonnets, in April gorgeous !
