Debi, these great photos remind me of my early years playing on the nearby farm. Mr and Mrs. Sorrick would invite me for lunch sometimes and mmmmmmm it was so good. I used to work there grading eggs, back when life was simple and good!!

Roy, LOL Thanks! Yes, Life is a good eye! ;)

Cheryl - you're right - I would love to spend a month or so in New England. I have tons of family back there, and it would be awesome to shoot the really old stuff....then on to Europe where it gets serious!

Sabrina - I'll get over there shortly to have a look!

Amy - Well, yes, tresspassing is an issue sometimes...Gotta be careful of that potential shotgun, even these days! In this case, I was able to get the shots without too much risk!

Sharon - Thank you - share them with him!

Tamara- The sunsets were posted in my recent Sunrise/ Sunsets post.

Linda, post them! I'd love to see!

Caren- What a wonderful set of memories that must have provided for you!

Charles- Thanks for stopping to have a look! I love em too.

Terry - Glad to have stirred up memories for you :)

Zane - Better late than never LOL You asked, and you received... I'd prefer to see them as they are rather than restored - So, leave em alone, you!

Patricia - I'll give you some info on that one in a sec, I looked it up - the name of the manufacturer is on the front so I was able to find it.

Mike - I like it too. I liked the yellow truck in the background...

The last photo is a McCormick Deering tractor.

"The McCormick name in farm machinery dates back to Cyrus McCormick, who produced the first successful reaper in 1831. McCormick's company was one of the pieces that eventually became International Harvester. International renamed their new 10-20 and 15-30 tractors as McCormick-Deering in 1923. The McCormick-Deering name was used on standard (wide) front tractors for the next three decades, until it was phased out in favor of the International name."

The one pictured below, and the one I captured, appears to be a 1928 model.

International Harvester Co
The International Harvester Co., which was the largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery in the United States, originally incorporated in 1902 and began producing tractors in 1906. Its formation united McCormick Harvesting Machine Co and the Deering Harvester Co. , each a well established firm. The company maintained a dozen or more manufacturing plants in this country besides those in Canada and other countries. Tractors were being manufactured at plants located in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Rock Island.

Hi Kim, Yes, it was alot of fun. Imagining what it was like when these tools were being used was pretty neat.

Hi Debi, I love pictures of vintage tractors and pick-ups. My favorite pic is the one of the antique hay rake. In fact, years ago my Dad had one just like that! Thanks for the memory Debi! ~ Marian the Horse Girl.

D-Vine:  These do your name justice....you big show-off (that was Roy's idea ;-)  Like many of these great comments said....brings you back to simpler times.  I feel kinda sorry for kids today who have no memories of how many of our ancestors lived their day by day.  I can remember as a wee kid, helping repair the lobster traps....my MOM's family in Prince Edward Island, Canada - were fishermen (no women) who worked hard for a living but always had a smile on their faces and an extra place or two at the table.  I even remember my grandmother heating this iron thing on the wood-burning stove to iron with.  No electricity, no running water!  Of course this all changed over the years, but I'm glad I got to see some of the old ways.....very nostalgic, thanks so much for these wonderful photographs :-)  Gosh, I even have tears in my eyes...good ones!

Jennifer, Thank you! I wish someone WOULD! LOL

Hi Randy, Glad you enjoyed them! Happy to make your night!

Gail, It is important, I think, to remember. To not forget how it once was. It helps to bring perspective into our lives, especially in times such as these. I'm really happy it brought back fond memories for you. (I have a couple of those irons...can't say I use them, tho!)

Great artwork. These are the types of photos that make it onto calendars. Think of how productive these machines were for many years. :)
