This is a recent example of how taking a home with very vibrant lime green and yellow walls and painting in a more neutral colour along with some decluttering makes for a very inviting home.

In doing this, you can now see the size of the rooms and the focal points/selling features of the home much better. The house shows very well online and allows the buyers to see that they want to put this property on their "must see list".

This property sold in just 39 days in a slow market for the highest price the neighbourhood had seen in the last year.

Advantage Staging will market your home to stand out from the competition every time.

Investment, minimal.

Impact, priceless.

Great before & after photos - I can't believe it's the same house!  I will to use this as an example for future sellers - sometimes they have a hard time realizing what a difference paint & cutter make when selling a home.

Hi Julie, Professional Home Stager strikes again and makes night and day difference! LOL!  I love what I do.

I always say to my clients that I wish they could see what I see in my head when I am planning the changes I would make to their home. I explain what and how I would do to make changes but I know they really have no idea of what I have planned and how it will look when it is done.

Hi Virgina, yes this home owner was very open to taking down the heads of the animals that he had killed himself (did you noticet the wild boar?). He left them up to see my reaction. As I come from a family that hunted to eat and tan skins for clothing, it didn't surprize me to see them. Actually the lime green walls were the one thing that really had to go and he was okay with that as well.

Did you notice that the homeowner moved the spa that was set up in the front room right off the foyer to the basement. I staged the front room as an office to appeal to more buyers.

Michelle, I love COLOR.  I have so many in my home now.  And yes, I certainly do hope they take down those deer heads if they want to sell.

Aloha Michelle,

What a difference a stager makes. Lovely transformation. It wasn't just the paint that needed toning down, the clutter and the stairwell was a scare factor too.

Peace,

Hi Carole, I seem to get my fair share of homes with the animal heads on the walls. I don't see much of this from other stagers ( although I did see a few Elvises!). The homeowner was more than happy to store the animal heads away until they move to their new home.

Hi Kimo, Do I hear a song coming on? The tune "What a day for a day dream (insert Stager here). I'll have to work on that one as my company song.  I love colour in small doses to accentuate a room but to have four walls painted lime green would be too much for me and for most people to make a decision to buy.

Those deer heads scare me! I guess it depends what part of the country your in, as what you see.  I do see a lot of gun cabinets here. They scare me also!

Hi Donna, I do seem to run into more animal heads up here than you can shake a stick at! Makes the work interesting. :)

Michelle, knowing exactly what to do with color is what makes you and others in Interior Design so good at your craft. Great photos. Deer heads have to come down in a FOR SALE state.

Hi Gary, thank you for the compliments to myself and the many other stagers here on AR in regard to choosing colours to sell with.

Colour is so important in creating just the right ambience in a property.  I visited two open houses today and I noticed the  main floors were beautiful neutral colours but the upstairs bedrooms were bright pink and navy blue on all four walls.
The dream house image was broken at that point. The people I were with had negative comments  on both houses once they encountered those rooms. When they left, all they were talking about were the colours in the bedrooms instead of how beautiful the rest of the house was. :(

Deer heads coming down are a definite in my staged houses. Same reason as above.

Michelle, Loved your pictures and the transformation.:)) Here in LA we try to tell clients  that they need to depersonalize the home, just like you got rid of the Deer Heads, we ask them to get rid of the Grammy's and other self serving photo's with Presidents, and political figures of all sorts of walks of life. The sale could be lost  by  what their views might represent.

Hi Endre, I see what you mean by each area having their own "deer heads" to deal with. Political views on display would certainly be off putting to certain people.

Fortunately this property was staged and the personal items were stored for the next house. This property sold in 39 days for the highest price the neighbourhood has seen, even last summer when it was at the peak in pricing.  Another staging success story... clients happy and the Realtor ready to do his next listing proposal with concrete, current numbers that speak of his success with staging properties for sale.

Jame, thanks for stopping in to see my colourful property, I appreciate your comments. I am desiging an area for the mounted heads at the new house. I think they will look better on a more neutral backdrop yes?

Hey Michelle, I only did a few displays off mounted heads and they were very different projects. In two off these projects I used a neutral light backdrop colour to give the heads more presence and it actually worked out better than I thought.

Hi Jame, that's what I thought as well. I was going to use a paint colour something in the range of Ben Moore Nordic Gray CC 576 to allow the heads to take prominence on the wall in the new home. Which colour did you use? Something lighter than the Nordic Gray?

Beautiful work once again Michelle! My mom has that green color along one wall of her condo, but it actually works in her case. It's a very modern space with chocolate brown walls in the adjacent area. But I never thought of adding the animal heads - I'll have to recommend that to her! :)

Hi Annie,  I like chocolat brown with green as well.

I really do run into animal heads more than any other stager it seems. I recently went to the new home that the client purchased and the animal heads are mounted on  Benjamin Moore Natural Linen CC 90. It actually looks very good as the two deer heads are mounted in the stairwell which has a skylight above. Haven't mounted the wild boar heads yet. Still deciding on wall colours.
