Sometimes you just have to take a break.

For awhile there I was writing blog posts and checking other people's blog posts and generally checking Active Rain three times a day.  Then for some reason, I decided to take a little break.  I wanted to see what the rest of the world was talking about and doing.  I actaully wanted to see if there was a world outside of real estate.

I think part of it came on when I decided to devote time to my other blog and part of it was bought on by attending the Virginia REBar Camp.  I always knew there were blogs out there that discussed a lot of other things that I wasn't finding either on Active Rain or else where. Even other real estate oriented blogs had a different perspective.

Don't get me wrong, I still [heart] Active Rain.  I met some great people with great insight here in the Rain. I even met a great referral buddy in another jurisdcition that took two of my referrals all the way and sent me a nice referral check and has invited me over to a couple of nice parties.

It's just that, sometimes, it's good to go out into the world to see what else is cookin'.

Plus, (can we talk here?), I was getting a little tired of the proxy errors and almost daily updates (where did my favorite navigation link disappear to, now?) and other tweaks of never ending improvements.  Sometimes, it's best to take a a little rest while the kids play in the yard and come back when they're all tuckered out and finished...at least for awhile.

My participation with ActiveRain ebbs and flows with other things going on in my life, and I've never consciously said "I'm going to take a vacation from ActiveRain."  However, that's effectively what has happened from time to time, and I think it's a good thing for all of us.

You got to do what you got to do.  In this market nothing much is working.  I feel this is productive as far as agent and local area visibility.  Last month I had many interviews of local news and TV stations.

You mean there's a world outside of AR? :-)  Maybe I need to think about that vacation.

I take breaks here and there too.  Sometimes I just can't keep up with it all.  Glad to see you back.
