Earth Hour 2009 was far more extensive and successful than I thought it would be. That is encouraging.

Hi Russel...yes it turned out to be HUGE. I think the most important thing it does is heighten our awareness of how much energy we are using and how easy it is to go without some of it by turning off lights, powering or unplugging down appliances, etc. we are not using.

We participated for the first time this year it was a great event and the kids were really excited to be doing something good for the planet.
