Great photograph - I love the wine country. We have a smaller version of it along the Missouri River from Defiance to Hermann more or less.
Ther vinetards of CA are fantastic. They do look a lot like ours in Virginia!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginla!
I have recently become one of those "wine snobs"...Now I can't wait to take a trip out there.
Ryan & Charles, I guess I need to get out more often in an easternly direction. I didn't know there were vineyards there.
Hannah, Trust me I was very calm while I was there!
Ian, if you ever go to Sonoma, check out the Alexander Valley Lodge. Great place to stay and they do wine tours so you don't have to worry about navigating on wine!
Lynn,
That is a lovely shot of color and textures - and possibilities. :)

I used to work in Sonoma. Remember Great Western Bank? Of course, that was 20 years ago. I loved driving to work there - so peaceful and gorgeous. I grew up hanging out at Lake Berryessa, swimming off the dock, and waterskiing on the lake. Last time I was up there to enjoy wine country, we stayed at The Carneros Inn. They have individual guest houses with their own little yard areas complet with an outdoor shower.
