Continuing to Work with No Voice to Talk- Life before Email?

By

Man, what did we do before email, blogging, twitter, and many more when we couldn't talk?

I have no idea what happened, but yesterday evening, my voice was going a little hoarse, and I woke up this morning with absolutely no voice.  I could whisper, but apparently those are different muscles.

However, email to the rescue!!!  I was able to get so much accomplished today just because of the ability of email and other online avenues to talk with people.

How amazing is that?

Back in the day, like just 10 years ago, if you couldn't talk, good luck trying to get anything done if you needed to "talk" with someone.

Man, my throat is killing me from the talking I did try to do today, but my daughter doesn't know enough sign language to communicate in all signs.

I hope my voice is back tomorrow as there is so much more I need to do that can't be done via email, like YELL at people!!

ReelProp, Thank you. And sorry, but I can't be any help to you on your survey as I do my tours for way less than what your survey allows.

Midori, Thanks, but sometimes, a girl's just gotta yell!

Patsy, Took a day off?  How does that work?

careful Donna. You may wake up tomorrow with no voice and sore fingers. Then you'll have to resort to either your toes or mental telepathy.

Hot tea with lemon, Donna.  I hope you feel well, too.  But, it's nice that you can still get stuff accomplished without having to worry about vocally communicating, right?

L&L, Thanks!

Marc, I always work from him, so same 'ol same 'ol here...  but the couch does call for me a little louder...

Loreena, But with email, no one knows when you're not 100%!

Greg, My toes have been warming up, and the psychic powers are only in my dreams...

Robert, No joke! And thanks!

Heather, Yeah, I drank some Green Tea with honey and lemon, but the gargling of the wam salt water is the only thing that has made any difference.

I know this sounds wierd, but I LOVE it when I lose my voice. My husband thinks the raspiness is pretty sexy. Crazy, right?

Your comment on Twitter makes sense now.  LOL  I thought you had a cold or something and thats why you lost your voice.  I hope it comes back.  For me, although emails does work, I like to talk to certain people because I know they will be confused with my email.

Be careful!  That's what happened to me in February.  I ended up in day surgery getting my tonsils out.  Ouch!

Kim, I used to like it when I lost my voice, like after a high school football game. It showed I really cheered.  The "sexy" comment reminded me of the Friends episode when Pheobe went hoarse.

John, True, some people don't understand how emails are written.

Jesse, I'll stay away!

Terry, I sure hope so!

Lorrie, I'm hearing more and more about people removing their tonsils to help with their allergies. I might look into it!

My tonsillectomy wasn't for allergies.  I had a huge abscess.  That was more painful than the surgery and the recovery.

Lorrie, Sorry to hear that. Glad you're doing better.

Petra, It's somewhat back, but it came back with a vengence of other "crud".

Greg, Skin of the lemon?  Why?  Can it be a lemon zest like in a pasta sauce?

Ann, It's getting there.  I still sound a little hoarse, but a million times better.

Gary, It did get some rest.  Grandma took Alyssa a couple of times so I didn't have to talk to her so it could rest some more... now, if I could get rid of the cough my voice came back with.
