RE Bar Camp in LA.  After driving 2.25 hrs through LA traffic, we arrived.  My first time.  Nervous but excited.  No agenda... What to expect?

I checked in.  My name tag was @GoldenPen, my Twitter name.  Found a seat up near the front (for the laptop plug).  Went up and met a few fellow RE techies.

Who did I meet?

Roberta Murphy from www.LuxuryHomeDigest.com in Carlsbad.

Bobby Carroll from www.Dakno.com.  His business card simply says "google me".  No address, phone, email, or web site.  He must be very confident that he's at the top of Google, eh!

Pamela Smith from www.StageitinaDay.com, she's a virtual office worker and experienced as a technical writer.

Artin Babayan from www.TheOCDGroup.com , who gave me a FREE t-shirt (THANKS Artin!)

Diana Ortiz from www.EquityisPower.com -- her company helps investors buy Short Sales!

Empty session room schedules posted on the wall.  People who wanted to lead sessions, or request a topic, wrote their topic into a time slot.

Led a brainstorm session on "Virtual Office" with attendees like:

@MyYellowBike, Dan Brough from C21 in Santa Ana

@MikeSimonsen and Scott Sambucci from www.AltosResearch.com, a leading-edge data aggregator company

Albert Arroyo from www.MyPriority.net "Short Sale Mitigation Specialists"

Went to a top-rated breakout session led by:

Pat Kitano the "Cellophane Man" from www.DomusConsultingGroup.com led a breakout session about using Twitter feeds as real-time news for webs and blogs -- awesome and cutting edge!

Oh yeah... caught a Tomato and watched a Twitter dance!!!

Learned so much today... contributed... and soaked up new ideas, tomorrow's RE future, and all things tech.  My brain is so full it hurts.

Thrilling.  We are finding out about the future of the real estate industry.  No, we are CREATING it.

Tony & Darcy, go to www.REBarCamp.com for upcoming locations & dates.

Robert:  THANKS!  ;)  In school I was called a "geek".  I think techno-nerd is much better!   I'm half nerd and half Real Estate Pro, so this was just perfect for me.

Michael, it was so great!  I'm @GoldenPen on Twitter.

Ann, yes it was wonderful to meet so many movers & shakers.

Erica, I know you will enjoy ReBar when it comes to Philly!  I think Phoenix AZ is next up.

REBar Camps are lots of fun and truly educational. The Realtors there want to be there (no arms twisting to get the CE credits), the geeks tend to know what they're talking about and are offering valuable information that doesn't cost a ton of money to implement. No huge exhibit hall with lots of vendors telling you their product will make you a million bucks while you watch Oprah and eat bon bons.

I went to my first one in VA last month and loved it.  I'll go to another in Philadelphia in May. Networking with other tech savvy (or, at least, tech interested) Real Estate Professionals is all part of the fun.

BTW -- @mdsuburbs on Twitter.

There was so much to learn and so many great people to learn from.  I missed Pat Kitano - one of the tough choices I had to make.

Christine, yes it's hard to get to see everyone at once!  7 simultanous sessions, that was quite a lot.
