The shaky economy has scared many homebuyers into hiding, but don't be fooled. Many potential James Island real estate buyers have found some terrific deals. Over 1,000 homes have sold in the Charleston area so far this year, many of those on James Island.
Given the difficult job market and some folks paralyzed with the thought of lost income. Buyers have been slow to move on potential great buys. Stricter lending standards and fear that a purchase today could lose value almost overnight, have added fear factors to the already fading sales figures. So, why would anyone buy a home right now?

James Island Real Estate Market Sales Report March 2009
James Island real estate market closed the month of March on a good note with the sale of 29 properties. 64 properties closed in West Ashley. 15 properties closed on Johns Island. 5 properties sold on Folly Beach for the month of March while maintaining the highest list to sales price ratio at over 97%.
