i did it...i wrote a blog.  it took longer than i thought, but it looks good, real good.  it's time to publish, click!  OH! There it is, for all the world to see. yippee!

now it's time to rest. i'm exhaused, didn't think i had it in me.

(two long mimutes pass)

hummm, maybe someone commented...i check.

nope. no comments.

ok, game is on, i'll watch tv.

until the commercial.  boring...maybe i'll go check ar again. nothing still.

hummm.  is it really a good blog?  self-doubt sets in. my stomach feels sick. did someone else just experience my same thought...i'll look. .....no! whew.

jeeze, wish i'd get a comment.  maybe it's a dud, a bomb, boring, stupid, maybe i should delete it.

yes! that's it, i'll delete it.

click, it's gone.  whew! it's only been 6.5 minutes, maybe nobody read it.  whew!

blogging is tough. i'll try again tomorrow.

lol...I wonder how many people actually read some of my posts. Actually wrote a few that should help many AR members IMO, but only a few comments. While I wonder, just could never see hitting the delete key after all of that effort.

Very funny.  How about now? Now?  No, hmmm.  Let me read some other blogs to kill some time.

Oh, wow.  I just "killed" two hours and didn't know it!

That's usually what happens to me.  Ken makes a good point though.  I never know which of my blogs will inspire comments from other members.  Sometimes I think that I'm just rambling and nobody will get through the whole thing, let alone comment, and I get tons.  Other times I pat myself on the back and await the onslaught of feedback and stay at the goose egg on the comment count.  Huh.  Maybe someday I'll figure it out, but I blog to put my thoughts together and motivate myself, and that's the meat of why I blog.  The comments are the gravy.

You know, sometimes I'll read someone's post, and I'll start to write a comment, then I figure, nah, they'll just think I'm a contrary, argumentative, fusty old-lady (which is mostly true), so I delete the partially written comment and move on.

How true!   I haven't figured out what will get comments.  The Blog that has gotten me the most comments is the one that I wrote the quickest, is rather a long rambling and I thought of deleting twice before all the comments started!  Then I think I post something wonderful and I get no comments!  Yet I find myself not commenting unless I feel I can really add to the though.....

Sometimes I don't comment because I feel everything has been said in previous comments or because my timer goes off.  I have to limit the time I spend on AR or I will never sell another home.   Oh, there it goes again....

Insecurities?  You bet!  I even almost deleted this post, putting it off as 'silly'.

Glad I waited, the response tells me we are all pretty much alike!

Ken, keep posting, I've put you in my "technogeeks to watch".  You write worth stuff, worth reading.  You even share the 'secrets' everyone is seeking. That I can attest too!

Michelle, don't put so much faith in 'comments' people are reading. There are many that actually have nothing to comment!

Timothy, those 3 first precious comments preventing me from deleting this 'silly' post as I awoke this morning!

Cheryl, are we sisters?  If not certainly related in thoughts and actions somehow...

Andrew, addiction is like that. Good thing you came equipted with a timer.  Mine is broken.

Alexander  >>>> bullets for you.  Yes were are all still kids at heart.

MF, so correct, we are like 'bad pennies' we'll keep showing up.

I always think, "Maybe the title's bad... Maybe if I change the title of it people will be drawn in & want to read it...".

Sheri Ann,

Title's like headlines mean a lot.  If they aren't interesting they don't pull the reader in.

Bloggging on AR is great - I had a blog out there somewhere in cyberspace a while ago and I sure no one but my family read it. And they only read it when I sent it to them and they knew Mom was going to call and ask them.

So many interesting things are going on here!  Lots of great reading and ideas

Once again you've 'Kristal-ized' a key concept of blogging!

When I have the time, it's fun to read back in some of the blogs and see how people have progressed in just a couple of weeks. You can literally see their confidence grow.

John that's a correct observation.  Taking that first step is hard, but it is also a confidence builder.

I think we need to be sure to help build the confidence of the new folks taking that first step.  I know that is hard to do with all the traffic this site is getting, but us "oldtime Rainers" can do it.

Hey! Number 25 .... the same number of points I'm getting for adding this comment. What a country!

I was amazed at how hard it was to blog ... B.A. in journalism be damned. I spent so much time worrying about what I was going to write and how to present it to a public audience that I never let my own voice come out.

I've tried to turn myself loose a little more here, hoping any readers I do gather (both from within AR and without) have an appreciation for the knowledge and perhaps the wit rather than reading more marketing pablum.

Janet here, new AR blogger. I responded to KK's real estate "if I had a nickel" piece because it hit close to home. In reading the newbie guide, there are so many hyperlinks, how will I ever have time to read them all. Anyways, I am trying to blog correctly and contribute to the subject matter at hand. I am a good typist, think quick and land on my feet always, however this will take some getting used to. So even though this is technically my 2nd blog, I feel it belongs on this post. I can see why Andrew needs a timer as may I when it is all said and done. Happy blogging to all of you.

Hi Kristal,

OK. This is my 1st too! Comment, that is. I just joined & found you from one of Brad's newbie 'how to's. I got here from your profile. I'm slogging through many newbie info posts & links. Maybe I can figure out how to post. Ah, in good time.
