Actions and Filters for Photoshop Image Manipulation
'Actions' in Photoshop are a series of steps used to create a particular effect, and saved to be used again and again. They can be as simple as changing a photo from color to black and white, or as complex as some you see below. You can create your own actions, or make use of the hundreds, if not thousands, of actions available FREE on the web. 'Filters' are mostly stand alone 'mini' programs you can load into Photoshop to create a variety of effects. Here are a couple of links to some great action resources:

(Not all are what they're cracked up to be, so you need to download, try it, and determine for yourself which are most useful).
To download your actions or filter folders in Photoshop:
Download the zipped file and save to your desktop. Open your actions or filters folder in Photoshop, then open the zipped file, and drag and drop it into the appropriate folder in Photoshop. The next time you open Photoshop, the action or filter will be there.
You can run more than one action, or more than one filter on a photo for even more interesting effects.
