Spring Inspiration and Positive Views...I wish, I hope, I dream

Well, I sure get a dose of inspiration; of ‘spring fever' when this season arrives and thought....what better way to boost our community with lots of spring fever but with a bonding of members from both groups (and any new members as well)."

My entry, taken this morning from my back door, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Do they?

Spring View, April 6th, 2009

April 6th,2009, is my youngest daughters, Allyssa Caulk's Birthday, and a view taken from my back door. Spring is just around the corner, and here's hopeing we will see those Spring flowers and May flowers soon.

We are advised every year in Michigan to not plant our gardens until the end of May, usually Memorial Day weekend. Wonder why?

Yuck! We just got rid of the last of our snow this past week. Who knows though we could still have another storm.

Het Missy It was good to see you at Retech in Norcross a couple of weeks ago. Judging by the picture you should have stayed South longer. Have a great day. And it is a pretty photo

While that is a beautiful picture it reminds me of Christmas not Easter. Around here we are certainly smelling the flowers and hearing the bees buzzing about. I wish a warm wind to blow your way soon. Happy Birthday wishes to your daughter, Allyssa!

Happy (early ) Birthday to Alyssa. I just had a FBook chat with Marianne Sweet about planting pansies..she keeps them in pots so she can bring them in. Wonder why.. :-)

Hi Missy! We are supposed to see ice and snow tonight and/or tomorrow. The last hurrah I imagine. I love changing weather since I am from Hawaii.

Ohhh Missy! I sure do hope you can have some warm weather soon. It's good for the soul! LOL It's cold here today 39. It was in the 70's yesterday and we almost blew away last night from tornado winds! Tomorrow it might snow.

Michael, rub it in.... I so remember the Dogwood Trails as a child.

Susie, I love the four seasons too, but this year the snow has gone on and on. The first year we moved here we had 74 inches. Now we are close this year. Gosh summer is going to be so much better.

Marzenna, we have photos of every year of her Birthday, some we are grilling out and others you can see the snow falling in the background. Never a dull moment.

Gail, yea Christmas.......lol So many years we just forgot about White Shoes and Sundresses for the kids.

Bill, we heard yesterday it was coming and it didn't disappoint. All the schools are out. I was planning on decorating my house today for Easter, will all the bunnies and eggs. Not in the mood. LOL

Liz, we grilled out on Wednesday and ate on the deck. I should have taken one then, but the grass is still brown and no flowers popping up yet.

Fran, IT IS !!! All those North Carolina folks are in town for the Big Game tonight. I wonder if they are digging this and brought warm clothes.

Very cool stuff indeed.....I love the photo although it really doesn't look much like spring. Hope your daughter had an awesome birthday. It was my dad's too!

We have rain and cold (for us) weather this week too.

We've been actively gardening, it was in the 70's this weekend, planting shrubs and some new trees. Here in Nashville the last day of possible frost is considered April 15.

Missy - It still looks too cold for me. I'm a wimp when it comes to snow and cold. I think I'll just stay down here in Frisco TX where it is spring/ fall/ summer 11 months of the year.

Missy - wow - it looks like winter- beautiful any way. Happy Birthday to your daughter today! It is really nice here today in Newport, but supposed to rain tomorrow through Friday - kind of a bummer for the visitors here for spring break!

That looks like a winter postcard, Missy. I think it's beautiful. I'm looking out at the brown, rocky hills behind me. So, winter wonderland in April sounds great to me. Although, having to shovel the ground and de-ice the car before heading out isn't what I call fun. :)

Missy, After the entire month of March without snow in Cleveland, it was snowing this morning, and it still is and looks like it might start to stick. You're right, it is what it is.

Missy--That same scene was out my window yesterday around 7am. By noon it was off the driveway and most the trees and by 3pm it was a memory...Hopefully until late fall too! Spring snow never lasts for very long.

Missy, What a beautiful photo! I'm jealous. I do miss snow, but the warm weather really does have me spoiled. Our Tulips and Buttercups have been up for a few weeks, dog woods are blooming and spring is in the air. It's gorgeous. They are predicting freeze tonight here in Murfreesboro. (back taking care of Mom). Too darn cold for me, lol.

I read on Lenn's post that you rolled out your new web site. You'll have to share it with all of us.

Wow Missy, from someone in North Texas who has not seen a flake in two years I like your winter wonderland but you are probably looking forward to Spring.

It was 70 degrees yesterday. The dogwoods are trying to bloom. Today sleet and possible snow tonight. I'm ready to be done with cold!

Hi Missy - That is a beautiful picture, but I think early spring in Hawaii looks a little different from early spring in Michigan! I do have to say that here in northern California we had 78 degrees today, so we aren't much different from Sally's weather, but ours is still a bit erratic - warm one day and cold, blustery, windy and rainy the next - sometimes 20-30 degree swings in the high from day to day.

Thanks for all the comments and from my Southern blogging buddies rubbing it in. LOL

I have not been getting emails all day so I read on Loreena's blog she wasn't either and came to see. Yikes

Well it is off the street but still on the ground. More coming tonight.

This is a photo I took yesterday. It's was 65* here in the Lake Ridge VA area. How long will it be before Ann Arbor see's Daffodils and Tulips?

Missy, spring in Michigan looks like spring time here in Colorado! We've had snow on 5 of the last 10 days!

Missy... Our springs look an awful lot alike. I keep hoping for green grass and buttercups, but all I'm seeing is volcanic ash and well, snow. :)

The deck is cleared of snow....the crocuses and tulips are poking their little green heads out of the ground and those brown branches are starting to bud...which of course in Wisconsin doesn't mean that tomorrow there will not be a white blanket over them...the good news about snow now is that it is such a momentary thing....Michigan like Wisconsin...wait a few minutes and the weather will change..happy spring !

It is really difficult to imagine that there might be snow somewhere, when you are in Florida, and my wife is companining that it is cold at 72F. I tried to remind her that this is considered warm Mpscow summer, but she stays unmoved. Just cold.

Feel sorry for you.

Back in Russian, when I lived in the Arctic just above the Arctic Circle, I went to visit my aunt and her husband on the Black Sea, i was enjoying the vacation, and my uncle was teasing me with questions. When I bragged that we have a long vacation, 42 days of it, he said that he had 12 months.

Now I undersand him very well. Now I have 12 months, and I enjoy it.
