Glad the days are getting warmer and the daylight is hanging around a bit later these days. It is hard being a real estate agent in the Northeast US during those short winter days. People can't just meet you after work to see a house if they want to view the outside, and it is never a good idea not to see the outside of the house on that first viewing in my opinion. There are too many things that can be seen in the light of day that will affect your opinion of a property. If people can't see houses during the week that means much busier weekends for me and more time away from my family during the times that we could be doing something together. I like these longer days a lot.
Today after 4:00 PM I will be taking out a buyer to look at several houses. A month ago we would have been lucky to see the first house before dusk and would have been looking at the last one in the pitch black of night. The spring buyer does not have to lose his weekend or take extra time off work in order to see houses. It is a perfect time for a house search!
If you are thinking of starting a search for a house you should be contacting a Buyer's Agent to help you set up a viewing tour. You can see several houses in a shorter amount of time making your decision easier and wasting less time waiting around for a bunch of different agents to show you individual listings. A Buyer's Agent will also be able to help you with the house values on properties that interest you and provide you with information to help make the whole buying process easier for you.
I work as a Buyer's Agent in the Great Hudson Valley of New York's Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan Counties. If you are considering this area I would love to be your Buyer's Agent. If you are looking for a house or other property anywhere else in the world give me a shout and I will find you an agent who can help you there. Have a great Spring real estate hunt!
