As Realtors, Could It Take 18 Years To Reach Our Goal?

By
Real Estate Agent with Oakstone Properties, Homes in Richmond VA

I hope it does not take 18 years to reach my goal.  I can see why it took them that long though.

April 6th, 1909 one hundred years ago today, the North Pole was reached for the first time by Robert Peary and Matthew Henson.  The task was not an easy one.  The explorers and their team of men and dogs made practice excursions twice, to practice their methods and skills for dealing with the harsh conditions and sometime -50F temperatures.  It was an 18 year long endeavor from the days of organizing the team, until they actually arrived at the pole.

Hi Nate.

Sorry, I guess I don't have the patience of Admiral Peary.

How about 18 months?

Hi Nate - I'm not as patient as I should be.  I want instant gratification and 18 years to reach a goal certainly wouldn't be my idea of happiness.  lol

That is a great story of determination (stubborness?) Thank goodness that all walks of people exist.  I think if everyone were sales people we would probably never know what existed there! :)

In today's fast-paced market, I think that 18 days is great!  Not years....

Well, in our world where microwaves often take too long, I would have to say I don't think I know anyone who would be willing to wait 18 years for something to happen.  But thanks for the info about the North Pole!
