This is just 3 tips out of my huge list of favorites.

1. Envy is a waste of time because you have all that you need.

2. If you think you have a "disaster" on your hands, ask yourself, "Will this matter in 5 years?"

3. At night before going to sleep remind yourself of -what you are Thankful for and -What was one thing I accomplished today.

Make it a GOOD life!

It is so important to keep things in perspective... unfortunately it took me a long time to figure that out..hopefully I can pass that along to my kids early on...so they don't waste time focusing on the little stuff :)

Wendy, Life is good and you posted 3 powerful tips to enjoy life. I always try to remember to do #3 At the end of the day is so gratifying to acknowlege your accomplishments and daily goal you achieved and are so thankful for. You should never go to bed dwelling on what you did not do, they are in the past and when you wake up tomorrow is another day and a new start.

Tomorrow is another day, we can start over after a good night's rest  A little something to eat, some time to relax and some sleep can change your perception of your world.

Great Advice!  I especially like the advice about disaster!  This keeps me centered many times!  Lessons are picking up for me, thank goodness.  Don't forget to bring your youngen out to ride!

7:08am • #14

Sherry, I'm so glad the lessons are picking up!  The girls would love to come out and see the horses soon.  There's been several times I've used the "will this matter in 5 years?"  The answer is almost always NO, so it does help. : )

Wendy - Great tips for reminding all of us to stay grounded in life.  I enjoy #3 and always am thankful for the blessings and the gift of life that I enjoy!  All the best.

Hey Wendy, #2 Sometimes you could even ask will this matter in 5 days. Circumstances feel overwhelming while we are in them. Good points!

Kenneth and Zane, glad you liked it.  Happy Easter.

Matt, That is true.  Sometimes it is just a matter of days and the world can be totally different for you.

Wendy, Very good advice!! I have one to add to your night post my Mom always taught me to not let the sun go down in my anger.  I did not even realize that was a bible verse until after becoming a Christian and then asked her who had taught it to her; it was my Great Grandmother.  We didn't have a lot of Christians in our family (most of us are now) so I thought that was too cool.

I would also say to take control of your life rather than letting other people control it. When one accomplishes that, one has a good life.

Such great advice in so little words!  Perception is everything.  Once we learn that...life is so much easier.

Dan, isn't that the truth.  And I LOVE my sleep.  It refreshes me.

Sharon, I know right?!  Sometimes, we make life more complicated than it means to be.  Have a GREAT week.

Awww Kathleen, that is sweet.  I hope it did help.  I have a sheet of these tips I read each day.  It truly helps.  I may do a follow up sometime.  Doing just 3 at a time.  I think my sheet has 15 of them.  : )

There is a very good book on the market titled "10-10-10." The premise is to make decisions based on what the result of that decision will be in 10 minutes, 10 months, or 10 years. My marketing guru taught me 5-5-5 (5 minutes, 5 months, 5 years) about 15 years ago, which I like better because it's much easier to look ahead 5 years than it is to look ahead 10 years.
