Downy Wrinkle Releaser, a BIG Duvet, and Band-Aids. . . More Vacant Home Staging Tips Part 2!

I posted several months ago (December 2008) about red marbles, a leveler and a Magic Eraser, and now I have more items I have found to be useful.

Downy Wrinkle Releaser

Most of us take a steamer and/or iron when we Stage to eliminate wrinkles inDowny our bedding, etc.  Well, just how much fun is it trying to press a dust ruffle while you are on your hands and knees, in some little corner by an outlet?  Take along a bottle of Downy and use the fine mist to help "release" your wrinkles.  I used it on my heavy fabric dust ruffle and didn't even have to plug in the old iron.  Just spray (not too much) and use your hands to press out the wrinkles.

A Big Duvet

I have in my inventory a King duvet in a nice, neutral, heavy fabric (Ross or any discount store)  and use it when I need a luxurious table cover for my small round bistro table.  It drapes nicelyand I didn't have to spend a fortune ($20) for it!  You can also use it folded at the foot of your bed to add some pizzaz.

Band-Aids

Where there are nails and a hammer, I'm usually going to end up needing a band-aid.  On my last project, I needed a band-aid for my knee, and wouldn't you know it, my assistant stuck a nail in his finger.

Can't wait to hear your tips!

Great tip with the wrinkle releaser. I didn't know it was available. Im certain it will help save time at each staging.

Thanks for the tip with Downy Wrinkle Releaser, I've seen these products, but I didn't know if they worked. I'll give it a try.

I love the Downy Wrinke Releaser. It also has a really clean fragrance which is sometimes enough to rid a vacant of the mustiness. I also agree about the band-aids. I had two destagings over the weekend and managed to get two different cuts. Of course I forgot the band-aids. . .

I use Downy Wrinkle Releaser on every job. It is a wonderful product!!  I burned my leg with a steamer years ago and will not use one ever again.

Edgar, Donna and Cynthia, let me know how you like the Downy Wrinle Releaser.  You'll have a bottle not only in your Staging Kit, but also in your own home closet and laundry area.

Cathy Lee: ouch! I may think twice before using my steamer again, especially since I'm accident prone.

Cynthia, I love your picture and thanks for the comment.

I have so many tools, my suburban looks like a cross between an EMS truck and a Handymans truck.

I'll have to try the wrinkle releaser once again - I wasn't thrilled when I used it previously.  I do get weary of steaming those towels, drapes and bedding!  Thanks for sharing!

Cindy- Thank goodness there's usually a Target near by!

Margaret-Ironing is always the quickest but not always covenient way to get rid of wrinkles.  Good luck with the Downy.
