OK...so the results aren't finished, but it seems really clear.  Most of Campton didn't even vote.  The best issues that our leaders could come up with were the following:

  QUESTION No. 1

Shall the Village of Campton Hills take steps to preserve the identity of the Wasco area?

  Votes  % of Votes

Yes

1574 23.73%

No

545 8.22%

  QUESTION No. 2

Shall the Village of Campton Hills consider adopting a "Dark Sky" light ordinance?

  Votes  % of Votes

Yes

1301 19.61%

No

801 12.08%

  QUESTION No. 3

Shall the Village of Campton Hills pursue an Intergovernmental Agreement with Campton Township in an attempt to assist development and maintenance of Open Space parcels within the Village through grants, land-cash contributions, and/or donations?

  Votes  % of Votes

No

Mind you....there are just too many problems with our economy, our leadership, families and morality, unemployment and crime and our leaders worry about how dark our sky is getting at night?  The businesses in Campton are begging for some leadership, but truly finiding none.  I've been contacted by individuals and businesses in and around their headquarters on the east side of LaFox saying how disgusted they are with what's been delivered vs. what's been promised.  But our skies will be dark at night Huh?  YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!!  I mean it.  Are you serious?  In the meantime, our fire department which has great servants but who are inadequately staffed and are in great need to expand to serve the citizens within the district, which includes Campton.  I would think that our leaders would have pushed for something great for it's citizens.  Instead, we're now

1)  Preserving Wasco....we could have done that by voting to keep Campton from ever evolving;

2)  Worrying about how people who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars, use their lights at night.

3)  Open Space crap.....wanting to issue more bonds, er debt, so that we can have another empty farm field to drive by on the way to work.  They've already saddled the homeowners with more than $28,000,000 worth of debt for a couple of farm fields.

Wow....John Stossel would have a "field day" with this.  This would be a great feature on Give Me A Break?  Are people that stupid?  Are the leaders that poor?  I don't get it....but it really seems to be coming down to the death of common sense.
