I need a GOOD Mortgage Broker in the Manatee County area

By
Industry Observer with No longer practicing real estate as of 2008.

I still have yet to be able to find a really good Mortgage Broker in my area (Manatee County, Florida) that I have wanted to stick with or recommend to more buyer's.

I prefer to work with local Mortgage Broker's, but at this point if I can't find a GOOD one to stick with, then I'm going to start looking outside of the area.

For whatever reasons the one's I have run into do not return my phone calls, don't return my buyer's phone calls, you can never reach them, they are rude, had one I liked on one deal I did with him and was passing out his cards & sent him an email about a month ago to follow up on all the sub-prime mess to ask him what types of loans he was still able to do......still have yet to get a return email from him or a phone call.  I've had one that tried to raise my buyer's interest rate the DAY of closing to nearly double what the initial rate was supposed to be, had one that went on a honeymoon and had no one covering his files while he was gone and didn't tell me he was even going on vacation before he left, so we had to postpone until he got back.  I'm sure I could continue on about bad stories and my encounters with Mortgage Brokers.  I know they aren't all bad....but I seem to just be finding the bad one's!

SO.....if you're a local mortgage broker or if you're an agent that knows of a really good Mortgage Broker in Manatee County, please let me know who you/they are!!

Let me know what kind of programs you have and what you can do for people.  Are you able to still do 100% financing, I know there are places that still can....I just need to find them.

Send me your information, or post it here.

With all due respect to the hardworking loan officers out there (and there are MANY) when I ran into this problem when assisting my father with a mortgage, we ended up using eloan...NO problems whatsoever, and great customer service.  Personal service is better, but if you can't find it...

I know there are some good one's out there, I just can't seem to locate them!  ;)

I have always preferred working with local people versus working with someone via phone, fax, email or Fed/Ex and never meeting them.

But that may be changing.....

"With all due respect to the hardworking loan officers out there (and there are MANY) when I ran into this problem when assisting my father with a mortgage, we ended up using eloan" I must say Laurie, I've heard the same from other individuals.  The fact is a lot of times companies such as theirs get a bad rap just because of their intense pursuit to corner the market.  I'll compete with them all day long, but eloan has done some good stuff on the market.

Becky - I hope Matthew can be of help to you and vice versa.  Let us know how it works out.  This is a great example of Networking on the Net!

Thanks for the response Axel.  However....LOL....you're also a licensed agent, which makes you my competition, so not so certain I would be sending any business to you.

That was another bad experience I've had, was a mortgage broker we used to do a lot of business with, went and got his real estate license and then started farming all of our past customers to try and get them as clients on the real estate end too.

Not going there again!  LOL.....I thank you for your response though!

Becky, I can completely understand the fears you have, especially when you had bad experience in the past.

But as you already said anybody can obtain a RE license afterwards and go behind your clients sooner or later. So everybody acting in business might become a competition after you sent them clients.

We stand behind our motto "honesty, integrity, results" and we only seek WIN-WIN deals.
So IMO this is an issue which has to be addressed in advance. But as long as it is addressed in advance it might probably work better than working with somebody you don't even have talked about this. And trust can only grow by time, but IMO it is not wise to consider everybody doing business in the same field as an enemy. Only together we can achieve more for our clients and ourselves and sometimes we have to overcome our fears to do that.

Of course, I don't need to mention that the decision is always up to you. But I felt I might have helped your clients and of course yourself after I read your post.

Anyway, thanks for being so open about your fears.
