Quilting Update

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Realty Group

As last reported, I was trying to complete a baby quilt in one week--not an impossible task except I work regular office hours on a team rather than coming and going as an independent agent has the luxury of doing, plus there were numerous evening commitments spread throughout the week.  Then on Thursday, my day off that I had dedicated to quilting, I ended up showing mobile homes all morning and cleaning the house for unexpected company most of the afternoon.  When I left my office Friday at 5:00, I told my teammates, "Well, I have to go home and sew.  Sheri's shower gift is in 24 pieces."  I got to work--about 10pm, after getting home from a party my husband and I had promised to attend.  The result?  Sheri's gift was in 2 pieces--top and backing--when she opened it at her shower.  Not a perfect result, but not bad.  I'll show that project when it is finished.  I now have 6 weeks until the baby is due to arrive.  Knowing me, I'll put it off until Sheri goes into labor.:)

I did hand over my in-laws' Christmas 2008 gift last Sunday.  It showcases pictures of Mom and Dad, their children and their grandchildren as babies and near adults.  It is machine pieced and hand quilted.  The 'Rents were delighted, and now my sister-in-law wants one, too!

I like the way the photo are framed.  I am also a fan of gold.  Nice job.  I totally understand about quilt being in two pieces!  I have even been know to give a "kit", fabrics I cut, intending to get to but couldn't fit in.  We only get the 24/7.  Do the best you can and the kids won't know if the quilt is on during "labor".  be good  cheryl(been there, done that)willis
