We need some help! Over the last 20 months we have been working diligently to help as many of the fire survivors as possible recoup all they can from their insurance companies. We believe if everyone had a product or service like ours, they would never have to go through the daunting task of doing a complete inventory of a loss by memory. Not to mention the stress and emotional duress caused by losing all you have to a disaster. No one ever knows when and where it can happen next...so get your clients prepared NOW!!! .....best part is you can earn a commission while doing so.

Disaster Preparedness and Home Inventory will be the topics of discussion at a free seminar hosted by Cover Your Assets (www.itstime2cya.com) on Thursday April 30, at the Community Room @ Westfield North County Fair Mall. 272 East via Rancho Parkway, Escondido, Ca 92025. The event starts at 6:30 PM and will conclude promptly at 8:00 PM.

The seminar, featuring Rene' Jones, Founder and President of Total Logistics Solutions, Inc. will present "DISASTER PREPARATION - Survival and Rescue skills, " and "Business opportunities within the Disaster Preparedness Industry". This will be an informative and lively discussion, providing answers to the questions:

  • What steps you must take to prepare your family? How prepared do you want your family to be? Have you considered all the issues?

  • Why you must have a home inventory prior to filing an insurance claim? National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), national survey revealed a significant lack of preparedness among consumers in documenting their belongings. Being prepared is no longer a choice and not just about insuring against loss.

  • How to perform a Home Inventory? Among the 1,646 homes destroyed in 2007 firestorms, only 9 percent - 150 - have been rebuilt. Most property owners are still suffering the stress of insurance negotiations

  • Learn About Home Inventory Business! This emerging market is underserved and offers an excellent opportunity to subsidize an income or provide a decent salary.

Attendees will learn how to gain control of this important topic; where to start, how to keep it simple and why being prepared for the next disaster is both important and strategic! So you can make critical decisions about how to protect your family's physical and financial health.

The program is designed for the benefit of homeowners, business owners, renters or unemployed, entrepreneurs and individuals looking to earn extra income helping people prepare for the next local or national disaster.

This is the kind of help entities should feel obligated to offer FREE OF CHARGE.  Unfortunately, some feel the need to capitalize on fear by charging for helpful information on tracking assets.

Cameron, I don't know if that was directed toward me or not. But I will respond by saying that I have been an advocate for the last 2 years in the 5 recovery centers here in San Diego. I have been working first hand with these wonderful families trying to help them through this process. I am sure if there was so much helpful information out there for them before they wouldnt be going through what they are now. I am so busy that we can do nothing but try to grow our business so we can reach more people at a bigger level.   As far as capitalizing on fear,,,,thats complete nonsense if you pay attention to the news. It only seems that way because this is one of the most important things someone can do to prepare for the unthinkable.  We have been able to take the 12 years of doing logistics and inventories for Home Depot and Dell (to name a few) and develop our own software, service and storage to help minimize the time and stress it would take someone to do off hand. Furthermore, since the president of the company lost his home in a fire 5 years ago we were able to take that first hand experience to heart and use that to help not hurt.  So yes there is a lot of 'helpful' information out there for anyone to see how to inventory and stuff that makes it easier to do. But the question is Does anyone do it? Well our research shows less than 20% actually do it when their homeowners says to do it.

In a perfect world everything would be free. Realtors would help individuals find a home for free or at least help them relocate when they were placed in more home than they can afford. But unfortunately we all need to earn a living.

My friend lost his house in the fires and he still has not rebuilt because of insurance issues. I believe the service you are offering is invaluable and would like for you to contact me to inventory my home.
