N.A.R.E.C. v. CCIM Institute (Hmm... I need to pick one...)

Here's a curious little site that caught my attention that you guys may find interesting. Here's the quote that made me poke around for a while: "The National Association of Real Estate Consultants® was founded in 1999 to assist real estate professionals in re-framing their focus as real estate consultants to better meet the needs of today's savvy consumer."

What does that mean? I'm still trying to figure it all out but they seem a pretty positive group. They state they have "consumer-focused training tools like the Consumer-Certified Real Estate Consultant® (C-CREC®) designation..."

Hmm... I only want a CCIM but I may continue to toy with the idea if it turns out to be useful.

What is a CCIM? You can red all about that here. :-)

Why do I want a CCIM? Check this quote out: "Only 6 percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but also why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry. The CCIM membership network mirrors the increasingly changing nature of the industry and includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers and other allied professionals. Through this business network, CCIM members successfully complete thousands of transactions annually, representing more than $200 billion in value."

Now you have to admit those are pretty cool statistics, eh? I want one. Seriously. I love Donald Trump and I am fascinated with commercial properties. I really, really want one to leave to the little minions. Sort of like how little girls ask their Daddy for a pony, except I'm a big girl now and can actually get what I want on my own (LOL). Poor Mikey. I'm dragging him into Real Estate as well. That should be an adventure (LMAO). I keep suggesting he should go straight into commercial and leave the residential and mixed use buildings to me. Will keep you posted. I think he just wants to play golf for his retirement (LOL). We're thinking gas station for the shorties. We shall see...

I shall be blogging about The Donald and how our commercial real estate investing studies are coming along. Gotta do more commercial deals and sign up for my CCIM classes while talking Big Daddy Minion into becoming a sales agent now that he has all this free time on his hands. Needless to say I will be  lurking on the TRUMP University website, as usual. :-)

LOL @ Claude. Thank you for answering the question, "What does that mean?" (ROTFLMAO)

CCIM seems to be up two votes. Yay! :-)

Thank you, Gary. Melodious suggested it would be a good fit for me and I agree. I don't want a lot of designations, just three. This would be my first. :-)

C...

CCIM comes in five modules, and I believe there are also production requirements to achieve the designation ...my recollection is that the production quota is significant. I have taken the first module ... I'll finish the others some day!

Richard, thank you for the heads up. I'm networking with some interesting builders and investors. My mortgage broker buddies have introduced me to some interesting prospects as well. I will be working very long hours this summer trying to make it happen (hopefully with a little help from my friends - LOL). ;-)

C - The CCIM Designation is one I'm interested in as well.  I've heard its expensive and HARD!

Amy, it most certainly is, on both counts. I think that's why I decided that I would only go for three designations behind my name. CCIM for the RE industry. CP for the legal field. I am a paralegal, so in order for me to become a certified paralegal (CP) I have to do all of the work here as well: http://www.nala.org/examdesc.aspx

I am a double major in law and computers so I have to figure out what my third professional designation will be (something from the computer field). I like computer forensics and have been leaning towards legal investigation techniques in the computer field, but don't really know if that is my final route.

I'm bleeding money here trying to get my educational stuff done (LOL). It's a lot of hard work, but will be worth it in the end. I'd like to build a nice business for the little minions to eventually take over. I also want them to have just as much fun as I am. The wee ones have been in training from day one. Noah is totally into the music and art and loves the building industry. You should see my kids at an open house or if construction vehicles are around (LOL). Kids make life very interesting. They make me want to do well by them. My pookies are my incentive. :-)

WOW!  I'm impressed!  And humbled...you have way more energy than I, my dear!  As much as you love your work, the love for your minions far outshines everything else.  What a great, smart mom your boys have.  You all are very blessed.

Amy, thank you for the kind words, they are very much appreciated. I love playing in the Rain. It give me a break from the more serious stuff (LOL). I am a recreational reader, so I like what I'm doing. Blogging fits my quirky disposition. :-)

C, I've been in real estate for 26 years, and have never heard of the C-CREC designation. The CCIM training is great. Time consuming, a little expensive, but worth it. Good Luck!
