It's All about Family - Wednesday at the Masters!
Wednesday morning at the Masters Golf Tournament was cold but sunny! For those who don't know this area of Georgia and South Carolina, it is a short 45 minute ride from our home in Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, SC to the Masters parking lot!
Thank goodness, Wednesday's wind was not gusting like it did on Monday and Tuesday. By 1:00 pm, the day had warmed to a balmy 74 degrees for the Par 3 contest. (Did you know that Augusta National has a Par 3 course adjacent to the regular course?) In addition to all the famous young golfers of today, it was exciting to be there and actuall see Greg Norman's hole-in-one on #6 and watch from a few feet away as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player played hole #5! What a day!
Many golf fans and golfers don't realize that Wednesday's Par 3 has become a ‘Family Day' for the professional golfers. It's the day before the tournament actually begins and everyone gets very very serious about golf! Most golfers don't think of the golf course as a place for families but this is just one way that the Masters and Augusta National sets itself apart from other golf tournaments!
Pictures tell a story! Yes, we have all the pictures of Amen Corner, Phil, Arnie, Jack, Fuzzy and all the others who were there. We hope you enjoy a collage of some of the best pictures of all! Enjoy!
Can you name all the families represented?
