21 Comments on REAL ESTATE SIGNS that will cause TRAFFIC JAMS
One thing is for sure, these signs are definently eye cathcers. I don't know how others will take these kind of signs though, they already think we should get over ourself from all the branding we do already with our faces plastered everywhere.
If the agent is at least good looking, I guess it would work, it probably WON'T for some of us. LOL!
I'm a little scared by the whole idea of a life size image of myself on the side of the road :-)
Great idea I love it! That should really really bring the crowds in!
Hmmm - there's some hanky-panky going on with signs around here. Wonder what they'd think of to do with a life-sized image?
I think that would be great to have some of those! I especially like the one with Mary Sherer. :)
I'm amused by the idea. Of course, my main problem would be to find a photo I could stand the world to see! Great fun, although I'm not dashing to the store.
Well the cut off at the knees one is a little freaky. I think the full sized one is good, but I'll bet it's expensive.
Does anyone else think that there is a potential security risk of a good looking agent putting their photo out front of a house that they may or may not be alone in?
Without sounding really snide, the first thought I had when I read the title was that our signs do stop traffic. Explanation: I'm a real estate auctioneer. Our signs all say "Auction" on them in huge letters (at least 1/4 of the sign), so we definitely get people slowing down to look at them. I've seen them stop traffic.
With that said, I'm all for ideas that allow agents to set themselves (and their signs) apart from the crowd. The personal photo thing may work for some and not for others (obviously), but I still have a nagging concern about security as mentioned above.
Great thread.
Michael: My wife is an agent (and a gorgeous one at that!) and I used to have that thought when her picture was in the paper for an open house. I would imagine that she would always use the same safety measures no matter what kind of advertising she did.
Thats crazy! Isn't it bad enough that we are about the only industry that puts our own picture on our business cards?
How about a picture of the happy sellers moving on a "Pending" sign?
The only way I would consider it - is if I can photoshop 20 pounds and 10 years off ! Seriously; that may work in some parts of the country for cute agents - but not here in DC. People would laugh!
Clever idea, good way to get attention in the right places...I would take a double look
Okay, for those of you who are curious, it is $200 for the full sized model and all the photography involved. Interestingly enough, the cutouts have been at the store for about six months and they said there had not been much interest. In all honesty, I haven't seen a single cut out anywhere in town -- so there must have been no interest. this is the kind of area though that might get a kick out of this:-) Will keep you all updated.
come on --- you guys are MUCH to hard on yourselves. I would love to see your visage on any of those signs. I double dare you:-)
I have a hard enough time putting my glossy photo on my business cards. Life size mug if myself i think NOT! But that's just me:) Best to you!
The signs are very eye catching and unique. You do not see them around and I think that they would bring a lot of attention to potential buyers!c
Gina.. I absolutely love this idea. It is different, you will stand out and drive potential clients to you. I like it. I think it would be great for open houses. Where would someone go to get these made? Any sign store?
Wow! they are nice, great idea, will look into how much to manufacture and will post.
I've enjoyed reading all the different responses.
That sign was produced at VictoryStore.com and is one of our stock designs.

My life-size is a scary sight. I'm not in favor of these types of signs. I am all for branding but my face plastered on everything is not branding. These images take up valuable space that could be used to actually sell the house and bring more visitors to your internet sites.
