PASADENA SHOWCASE HOUSE... a designers dream!

Since 1985, I've been attending an annual benefit that is so wonderful that I haven't been able to miss a year yet! This event is definitely worth seeing at least once in a lifetime, but it is so fabulous, I'm drawn back year after year, sometimes attending three or four times during it's run.

Since 1965, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) holds the PASADENA SHOWCASE House of Design, one of the largest and most respected home and garden tours in the United States. The proceeds and donations for this benefit help fund concerts given by the Pasadena Junior Philharmonic and awards grants and scholarships to various musical programs throughout the Southern California area. A great benefit and this home and garden tour is one NOT to be missed. For designers, home stagers, landscape artists and anyone who appreciates architecture and design, this is the place to be.

A day at SHOWCASE HOUSE is really quite an experience. After enjoying a tour of the beautiful estate and gardens, plan on having lunch or dinner during night tours and of course, what would a day be without a little shopping.

Michelle: After checking out the links you've provided, I can understand your excitement!!! The designer of this years Showcase House also designed the Tournament of Roses House, Wrigley Mansion (I believe that is what it said), and I've been there! Pasadena has so many wonderful estates that tell the story of the history of this great city.

Maybe next year I will be able to go... Maybe I could huitch a ride.?

HI Michelle! Our San Francisco Decorator Showcase Home is almost here. I already have my day booked and my friend Benjamin Dong is doing the Rose Room this year. I emailed him to let him know whick day I would be there. This home looks fantastic-may try to see it with my daughter in law on a visit down south.

Kat- YOU are so right! Pasadena is a great city and is filled with beautiful estates and architectural buildings in it's downtown area. I would be happy to give you a ride any time, in fact if you can make it this year, let me know...It really is an awesome experience!

Cathy- The San Francisco showcase house looks like it will be a great one again this year too! How exciting for your friend to have the opportunity to work on one of the rooms of the house. It's great to experience the different designers work and see all the latest materials used in design today. Hope you get the chance to travel south and see Pasadena's house. Went to see the showcase on Thursday and it is just awesome! I will be going back again on Wednesday this week with my daughter...just can't get enough!

Yes, a lot of talented designers put their best efforts into designing this beautiful Pasadena estate. It's hard for me to pick my favorite room in the house, they were all so specially appointed and had each designers unique style...however, if I had to pick just one, the spa room in the guest quarters was so incredible.
