It's A "Good Friday" to Wish YOU A "Happy Easter!"

Today I am in San Luis Obispo, CA. visiting my oldest son who will be graduating this year from Cal Poly.  Last night, we packed up the car, loaded up the boys, and headed down to Southern California to see Big Brother.  What an exciting time it has been.  Our first stop was for a steak dinner at the Madonna Inn.  Man, what a place.  It was like being in some kind of fantasy land, almost like we had fallen into the rabbit hole.  The food was awesome, the place is spectacular, and the company was the absolute BEST!

This morning we decided to head downtown to do some window shopping and see what kinda trouble we could get into when we saw Chuck Lidell from the UFC, just walking down the street with a couple of his buddies.  We think he was headed to Firestone for some dinner.  Chuck is one of the greatest fighters in the UFC.  He actually waved to us, and said hi. What a great guy.

It sure is great hangin out with my boys!  That was almost the highlight of the day...

That is until we came to the "Gum Wall!"  Now I know that sounds gross, but it was definitely a kodak moment.  My mom bought everyone a gumball so we could take part in the great tradition of putting our gum on the "Nastiest Wall on Earth!"  Oh, the hidden joys of life!

So now that I'm back at our Hotel, I just wanted to share all this with all our AR friends and family, and most importantly, we wanted to wish everyone a safe and Happy Easter.  I hope you'll find and take the time to create and share some special memories with your family and friends just like we have today.

I'm looking forward to reading all about your Easter Celebrations this weekend.  Be Blessed and Enjoy!

OMG - A gum wall - who would have thought - I would have put my gum there for sure (and taken a picture) - but washed my hands quickly after.  Happy Easter!  How nice to spend the time with your family (chewing gum) - just can't get away from that subject - definitely dominates your post LOL

Cool Gum wall!  Brad, I've got to warn you - I think the person at the very back of the photo was TAKING gum - not putting it on the wall!  :-)

Happy Easter,

Mike

Finally, I have a wireless connection that works...  lol~

Today we went to Pismo Beach and to the Apple Farm.  Tonight it's dinner at my sons, and then Easter Sunday tomorrow.

Looks like the "Gum Wall" wins the highlight of this post!! haha...

Seriously, Thanks everyone for the really nice comments, you've made this Easter "eggstra special!"

I'll be posting more photos on my Flickr account shortly.

BTW - Paula was right about the loo at the Madonna Inn, here's the proof!

Have A Great Easter!

Brad - that gum wall is pretty gross, but it does look like everyone does it.  As for Chuck... I am pretty sure you HAVE to say he is a great guy.  I would not want him looking for me.  LOL  Sounds like a great trip.  Congratulations to your son!

Happy Easter to the Andersohn Family!  :)  And congratulations to the soon-to-be Cal Poly graduate!  That's awesome!

Sounds like you had a very good Good Friday!  But, I'm afraid I would have to pass on that Gum Wall.  That just gives me the creeps!  Do they provide sterile hand wipes for when you're done touching that thing?  Ewwww.

Enjoy your holiday.  God bless!

Brad - you have a lovely family and I don't know if I would have the courage to participate in the gum wall.

Breaking the tradition of the normal Easter morning egg hunt, the boys have decided to take me and mom on a hike to the top of the Highest mountain in San Luis Obispo. We're going to take in the 360 degree views of the entire city from Cal Poly to the ocean.

After this 1 1/2 hour hike to the top, I'm sure the views will be amazing and you can count on me taking some video and hopefully some great shots.  So we're off now, and hoping everyone has a spectacular Easter Sunday.  :-)

Hi Brad.  Thanks so much for sharing.  You helped me to realize I need to step back and take a little time off.  It just came to me that I am grouchy and hard to get along with because I need some R & R.  Thanks again.

Thanks again to everyone for all your comments, I trust that you all had a great Easter weekend.

Mine was most certainly one I'll remember for a long time.

Our Easter Sunday hike to the top of Mt Bishop was absolutely incredible.

Here's a 360 degree video view from my camera phone.

Alex - thanks, your analogy with the fireplace was an excellent one.   I hope I NEVER burn out!!!  :-))

Check out this song about keeping the candle burning, I think you'll enjoy it.
