Ulster County Data Showing Postive Signs for Spring

Data for the month of March revealed a positive direction for the Ulster County Real Estate market.  Although the median price continued to drop, the number of homes sold in march of 2009 was almost exactly the same as 2008.  During most of 2009, there has been a 40-20% decline in the number of homes sold by month, so this bodes well for the spring season.

The spring time seems to be bringing more buyers out of the woodwork.  Interest rates are still ideal and asking prices are dropping as well.  The $250k and below range is certainly the most active part of the market.  More and more buyers tend to be first-time homebuyers in a market which has been traditionally dominated by second home buyers.
