Everyone loves special occasion themes for various holidays.  Did you know that you can design and create custom embeddable video widgets and apply them to all, some, or just one of your videos?

Since many people are celebrating Easter today, we've created a short 4 minute demo video that shows just how quickly and easily you can make a one-off Easter themed design for a video widget. The video isnt edited at all and is captured in real time. The possibilities are endless for you and your business as there is no limit to the types of designs that you can make using our system.

(Click To Watch The 4 Minute Video)

The custom widget design process is simple:

- Upload a video using http://upload.vidlisting.com.

- Register as a member and enter the Vidlisting member area

- Click on the workspace link and find your video there after it is done processing

- follow the instructions in the video

You can alternatively apply a design and your logo to youtube videos, Real Estate Shows, or documents that you have added to your member workspace.  Be sure to choose "this widget only" for the scope of your design changes or all of your widgets will have the same design.  Although we think that it works properly, please note that this functionality is beta - there may still be a bug or two in it.

Once created, you can embed the video player into blogs or websites. Have fun creating new designs and enjoy your Easter holiday!

EDIT: Just for fun, I'll change the design of the widget every time I answer in comments... :)

Boomer:  thanks for the heads up.  The video is fixed now - the problem was between the laptop and chair - ME! Just some fat fingered typing on my part.

Gabe:  it works for all sorts of applications and occasions.

(Changed widget from black and grey to a nice pastel bluish color with yellowish text (didnt like that one so much) back to black.

Nicely done video---sort of like coloring eggs with lots less mess---and no leftover egg salad! My egghead seems to need more wiring to get this wonderful stuff connected... but I can dream---in color!  Wishing you a happy Easter day, Tony!

Mara:  You are the best.  Egg salad would be perfect right about now  so pass some my way please  :) Have a most blessed day!

(Changed the widget to a reddish brown and back to rounded corners on the title box)

Joan: Thank you so much.  What I think is cool is that embed code NEVER changes. The widget just knows what design it needs to have.  I'm looking forward to seeing your custom widgets.

(Changed the widget to a pink...errr...umm...salmon color with rounded corners)  :)

for the next comment I'll add a logo as well and start moving that around to various places on the widget.

Tony - Thanks for the lesson and the great post. I have only put on widget in a blog post thus far, and don't know much about it. I really appreciate the tutorial :-)

Gosh -- today is a bonus tech gift day!!  A great link from Chris on easy to create graphics http://activerain.com/blogsview/1030326/Snazzy-Graphs-Data-Dumpage and now a nifty video widget.

I've put this blog post and your website into my Favorites to return to at a later time.  Your widget seems multi faceted and easy to use for adding a little pizazz to video's -- which I hope to get into in the not toooooooo distant future.

I purchased a JVC Everio Hybrid mid last year and I look at it every day as I have it sitting next to me on my desk next to my laptop which I spend most my day on.  Currently I'm in the process of trying to learn some xhtml and css to redo Robin's website (which I had done years ago in FrontPage as a WYSIWYG).  It's woefully missing proper mark up and I hope to redo it using Expression Web.

Opps -- I digress!  When I half way get an acceptable site (to me) up and running I intend to jump into the video learning.  It's very important for me to grasp the fact that while learning new thngs I just need to jump in and can master some steps along the way and things don't need to be "perfect" starting out!!  A hard lesson for some of us to learn.

Hope your enjoying Easter Tony and thanks for sharing.

I loved Mara's comment about coloring eggs. That was my most favorite thing to do at Easter, and it makes me want to use the widget.

Janeen: plenty more unique things coming....and lots already done.  You can see what is different about just by perusing the tabs on our real estate video features page.

Christianne: Hopefully the tutorial was clear enough and easy to understand. The best part about today was being to "exercise" the functionality.  I see how we can make several improvements to make things easier for our members.

Robin and Sue: Just let me know if you need any assistance with your sites.  We love video but also love real estate. You can see how one REALTOR is seeing the advantages of real estate video and using a good chunk of our functionality (profile video, blog post integration, and such). Vidlisting is releasing a new feature every working day in April.

Joe: Mara is the best, isn't she? Wraps up an entire complex concept into something that is really easy to understand.  I wish I had that gift. :)

Geri:  Thank you for stopping by.

Rebecca: Have a joyous and wonderful Easter day.

(changed the widget again - decided on a darker green this time with rounded title bar. The big difference with this widget is that we placed one of our website logos in the upper right hand corner.  You'll see that we can move it around the widget)

I bought a Flip Video camera Thanksgiving weekend, and have been carrying it around in my bag ever since, and NOT using it! Why? Because I thought the only video editing software I could use was Mixpo via Active Rain! Little did I know that I have Windows Movie Maker right here!

Now video is back at the top of my "learn to do and increase my business" list, and you've just given my yet another tool!

Thanks and Happy Easter!

Thom and Ray:  It will feel good to get a return on that investmemt. Our real estate video upload page is just a short click away.

Marian: Glad to be of service.  I went to bed early - too much food as well :)

William: Right now, most hosting services primarily keep your video content on their own site (at least how Google sees it).  We ask the question, "why shouldnt Google find your video on your own site and why should you be able to mix all sorts of non-video content with your video?"

At Vidlisting, we are working to change that so that content gets back in the control of the person that uploaded it.

Mark: Thank you for the kind words.  Vidlisting is releasing a new feature every working day in April.

1 April - we boosted our video quality without losing the instant start and non-buffering videos that we are famous for

2 April - Integrated agent profile videos with property tours.  Add a video in the member area and it's automatically linked on the player page

3 April - added an unbranded capability for MLS videos on upload. You can also link unbranded videos to the standard video for the same property.

4 April - Added the ability to attach community ir neighborhood videos to property videos.

The list goes on and on....there is lots of new and useful stuff coming this month. That said, we think some of the lder stuff like custom widgets and custom players are pretty useful for REALTORS as well.
