Curb Appeal Sells

By
Real Estate Agent with Rinehart Realty

Sellers need to pay particular attention this time of year when it comes to the outside appearance of their home if trying to sell.  Many prospective buyers will drive by and if there is no curb appeal these potential buyers will be less likely to make an appointment to come in and look at the rest of the home.  There are some simple tips that will add great value and bring potential buyers inside.

*  Keep the lawn mowed.  Check the local forecast and don't let your grass appear overgrown due to days with rain.  Be aware of the forecast and mow your lawn as needed so it remains neat and manicured.

*  Plant fresh flowers and plants in your natural areas around the home and don't forget the appeal of flowerpots on the porch with fresh plantings.  If plants die replace them and don't leave them in the pots because the perception can be the homeowner does not take care of the details.

*  Watch the pollen.  If you have porches or furniture don't let the pollen cover them up or here again potential buyers will think you ignore the details of the home.

*  If you have pine-straw or mulch in your beds be sure to add fresh to spruch up the appearance.  Buyers will be assured that you care about the details of the home.

Good advice, as much time as sellers spend inside, it's unfortunate how many fail to "stage" the outside.
