In late winter I was taking a break after showing homes in Wappingers;  I stopped in the village of Wappingers Falls and decided it was a great time to take photos of the village.

Throughout the Hudson Valley many places derive their names from Native Americans and Wappingers is no exception, the name comes from Native American word Wappani.  This village was founded back in 1659 and as you can see there are many historic buildings.

Jennifer, what a cute town!  Are those apartments over the store fronts?

Marchel Here in the Hudson Valley there is so much history to explore.  I am not sure those are all apartments above the store front.

Ann - Thank you.

Hi Jennifer...I was up in your neck of the woods last week.  We drove up 81 and took Rt. 17 to the Tappan Zee Bridge.  Coming home we drove up to Danbury, Ct., across 84 to 81 S.  The area around the Hudson River is really very pretty.

You have given us a great glimpse of Wappingers Falls.  I'll have to explore it one of these days.
