We've been patiently awaiting the release of this Making Home Affordable Refinance program for the many homeowners who have wanted to refinance their home loans to get today's lower interst rates, but could not do so due to their home's current market value. Market values will still be an issue for many homeowners, as the  Home Affordable Refinance program will only lend between 80-105% of a home's current value. PAtience is still required, as lenders get their systems ready for this program type, but we've received word from several who are accepting these files and are releasing their pricing on it. Patience is also required for answers such as this that keeps coming up when homeowners (or me on their behalf) input their home's address to see if they are eligible to refinance under the Home Affordable Refinance program:

Karen I don't normally do reblogs, but this is really good information. Can you make this reblogable?

Hi Melina - Made that change! The latest on this is if borrowers have an MI policy they will need to transfer to the new loan because they don't qualify under the nex guidelines or because new MI premiums are sky high, the Mortgage Insurance companies are requiring borrowers go through their existing lender. To find out what borrowers are facing when they do this, I applied on my own loan. Not a peep out of my existing lender since I applied, and when I call in the people on the phone are unfamiliar with the program guidelines. Patience, patience, patience is the name of the game for people.

Hi Jesse - The April guidelines will help some people, namely those that do not have to contend with existing mortgage insurance or 2nds. May's guidelines should help even more.

Thanks for stopping by.
