Are you utilizing interlinking strategies in your blog ?

When I first started blogging, I did not know how to utilize links and would never know what an interlink was. Today, I know that linking and interlinking strategies are critical to maximize readership, page views and stickiness to your blog.

As part of Day 8 of the Build a Better Blog challenge, I learned the following from Problogger regarding Linking Strategies interlinking:

Makes your blog more useful to readers as they can find related posts and information
SEO - Is great for SEO from the search engines.
Increases page Views

So what do you do ?

When you are writing a blog post, know your keywords and link them to the appropriate place where you would want your readers to go:

Examples would be Search for Philadelphia Homes , or interested in Northern Liberties Real Estate ? Or visit our blog Philadelphia Real Estate Voice .

Another example would be to update an old blog post and link to it in a new blog post such as what we did with the following post: "Learn to Kindly Say No: It will help grow your business ! " . We took an old post, updated it and improved it (since we are learning) and it became a featured post !

Lastly, another great example of interlinking is offering further reading for similar blog posts. You can group posts that may relate to "selling your home" . Or in this case, we have related posts to our "Building a Better Blog" Series as can be seen below.

Fernando - Is a great technique to use for sure.

Matt - Use, it takes a few more minutes but definitely a smart thing to do. Also, including other bloggers' links as part of that "recommended reading" or "related posts" is a good idea as well, depending on the topic of the blog. I am learning that it is great to share the link love : )

Jen - We need to do the same thing for our older blog posts. Will be some work but will be worth it !

Links in posts are good, and you can network and link to other associates' web sites when possible.
