The 2007 Grand Rapids Parade of Homes is one of my absolute favorite times of the season. Personally, I love the latest and greatest architectural designs of the custom homes and viewing their house floor plans. First time home buyers and seasoned home buyers should take advantage of this time (it starts May 25th through June 9th, 2007) to peruse these unique house floor plans and the custom upgrades that are available in homes today.
Custom Homes Don't Have to Cost More $$
In a recent article about the 2007 Parade of Homes in the local newspaper on Sunday, May 20th, "Buyers are not interested in a cookie-cutter home that looks like all the others in their subdivision. Hardwood cabinets, top-end light fixtures and functional, user-friendly designs are in demand." (Grand Rapids Press) Some other top wants for the buyer looking at homes for sale are: custom-built shelving in the laundry room, stainless steel appliances, and taller ceilings (GR Press).
Grand Rapids Real Estate Market, Many Homes for Sale Make this a Great Time to Buy!
With the glutton of homes available in the Grand Rapids real estate market and available through the Grand Rapids MLS board (http://www.grar.com/), builders have to pull out all the stops to get their homes sold. Great news for even the first time home buyer who can get a custom home floor plan with a lot of the upgrades and not have to pay the cost of the add-ons. According to Judy Barnes of the Home and Building Association of Greater Grand Rapids, (link to HBA) "Homes are priced to sell today. It's probably as cheap as you'll see those prices... Parade of Homes Offers Plenty of House Plans to Choose From
This year's Parade of Homes includes 133 homes and condominiums, including nine green-built homes (See Parade of Homes Condo article) that range less than $100,000 to more than $1 Million. What a truly wonderful time to take advantage of the market!
