While the San Diego Zoo is a world-class Zoo, something that is not as well known is that it is also a world-class arboretum. There are many thousands of different species of plants on the Zoo grounds, and many of them have some beautiful flowers, so here today, for our ActiveRain ladies, are some flowers for you to enjoy. Hope they brighten your day and week.

Russel--thanks for the pretty flowers.  My husband sometimes refers to me as the 'flower' lady.  Thanks for sending them via AR.  Mary

Hey, Mary.

You're welcome. The City of Coronado is having their annual flower show this weekend, so I'll have some more flowers for you next week.

Hey, Sall and David.

I'm looking forward to receiving some bouquets from a little further north of me. Let me know when you get here to San Diego, and maybe Jim and I can play docent for a few hours.

Hey, Russell.

I suspected I'd get a few chuckles from the guys over that.

Hi Russel!  I love poppies, somehow I can never get them started to grow, any advice?  Dogwoods are just now beginning to bloom here and are such a pretty tree.  You always do flowers so much justice as your photos show all the detail.  My hubby is quite a flower lover also, when I divide the flowers and pitch part of them in the trash, next day he has taken them and planted them somewhere else.
