Company transfers and Staging

By
Home Stager with Staging Places

Recently, I have been thinking about all the companies that are transferring their employees from Michigan. I have heard some are even offering to cover the mortgage on their homes for up to one year. It seems to me there could be a great opportunity to work with these companies and help them sell the properties quicker. The problem is, I have no idea where to begin. Does anyone know what department of a company I would contact to discuss this? Has anyone ever tried this? Any help would be great.

Heather, This is such a good idea. I haven't tried it. They are all moving here. :) If you know which companies seem to be the one's which are offering this as an incentive to their employees it seems you could start "at the bottom" so to speak and simply ask the receptionist about which person you would need. I often begin with, "I'm not sure which department I need, will you help me?" I find most people truly do enjoy helping others and most often do what ever they can do be of assistance when you simply ask. Kind of like here in the Rain. Yeah!

Heather,

I missed this blog when it was hot off the press.

I did have an experience staging for a family that was getting re-located by their employer. The listing agent approached the employer and told them if they gave her a slighter higher commission she would pay for home staging and make sure the home sold quickly. They agreed, I staged the home, the agent paid me in full, the house sold fairly quickly in a "down" market. Good outcome for everyone.

I would imagine that Human Resources or the dept that handles benefits for a company could answer some of your questions. You probably could start with gathering your written materials, portfolio, testimonials, etc and let them know how you could help.

You are thinking outside the box, a sign of a creative problem solver, i.e. professional stager.

Best wishes,

Sue

You know, my husbands company pays all fees related to selling your house...I think I'll find out who I could speak to and see if they'd give out my info!

What a great blog, I love it when someone has a fresh idea!
