With hurricane season fast approaching (June 1 - Nov 1), May 20-26 has been designated as National Hurricane Preparedness Week. The goal is to raise public awareness. President Bush urged each community to “share information about hurricane preparedness and response to help save lives and protect communities.”

Florida residents will want to visit the Florida Division of Emergency Management at www.floridadisaster.org.

I saw a report last week that was predicting 8 or 9 major storms would hit the U.S. this year. Hopefully that will be on the high side. That would be a nice break for those who are still rebuilding.

Looks like no news is good news so far. Hope the calm continues for another 75 to 90 days.
