I heard it first on Facebook today and found this rather interesting since I had not heard about it yet.  Apparently Gov. Rick Perry of the Lone Star State is pushing for State Sovereignty in light of the Bailout money that is being forced upon the states.

I still don't know a lot of the details but he will be on Greta Van Susteren tonight on Fox News and I'll be watching to see what he has to say about it all.  He mentions in a Press Conference dated last week to pay attention to what happens this week.

Now that I know, my eyes and ears are wide open.  If you want to hear what he has to say, the Press Conference is below.  Anyone know the scoop?

Are you going to disassociate yourselves from the united states?

No, that's not what he is saying.  In the press conference he says that he just wants to use the bailout money the way we feel fit for our State.  "....tired of being told how to run Texas" or something to that affect.

I don't know...that's why I'm tuning in to Great tonight.  :)

Every state needs to stand up and say enough is enough - this money with strings attached is just plain stupid! All states need to have a backbone.

Hi Stephanie - Very interesting. I'll be interested to see how this turns out and how many other states will fall in line behind Texas.

He is just making a political move of posturing to try to save his next term.  In reality, the market may see through this and he may end up losing his next term by the move.  I guess we will see......

I love Texas.  The way PA is going I may just look into Houston.  I've got some friends there and an agent lined up!

Well, Gov. Perry just talked and what I got out of it is that they are just asking the Fed to give power back to the States and talking about Tax Day Tea Parties.  I don't know...but will be interesting to see what happens to HCR 50.

Marlene, it will be VERY interesting.

Tim, who knows...still interesting to watch.

Jeff, We would LOVE to have you down here.  :)

I love being a Texas native and our current Gov. is just the latest in a long line of nit wits but really, I think he is just stirring up stuff because he is afraid kay bailey is going to come home and give him a sound thrashing in the next election!!!
