NM Sustainable Building Tax Credit

Build Green, Save Money! This is a big boost for Green Building in New Mexico.

From this article... Overview of the residential Sustainable Building Tax Credit. The SBTC has two primary components. The first is that the home meets a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) index of 60, as documented by a certified HERS energy rater. A home with a HERS rating of 60 is 40% more energy efficient than a home built to the standard building code. The second is that the home is certified as having achieved either the Leadership for Energy & Environmental Design for Homes (LEED-H) Silver rating or higher, OR the Build Green NM Gold rating. (See the websites given below for an explanation of these rating systems.)

The key thing here for residential homes is that "Build Green NM Gold" qualifies for the credit. Yea!
