Last Wednesday I finally drove to the local bike shop in San Luis Obispo or SLO as we locals call it. Cambria Bike Outfitters is in my opinion the best bike shop in SLO for mountain or road bikes because they actually care about their customers, kind of like us REALTORs. Anyways, I went into the bike shop because for the last month I have needed a bike tube for my mountain bike but everytime I get a chance to go get the tube something has come up. Finally got the tube and proceded on to work for the rest of the day. As soon as I got home and threw that tube on my bike and geared up for a ride up Stenner Creek Road and up the Cuesta Grade for my favorite ride in SLO.

While I was on the ride I was taking in all of the beautiful scenery and thinking about how lucky I am to live here. San Luis Obispo is a very special place because we are only 20 minutes from the ocean which allows us to through a wetsuit and a surfboard in our vehicle and drive to the beach and catch good waves or scuba dive or kayak or boat or fish on that same water on the same day. The next day we can wake up and mountain bike any one of our numerous trails from beginner to advanced levels. Then, the next day we can wake up and drive 3 hours to Sierra Summit and ski or visit Shaver Lake. And the list goes on. Basically we have the best of all worlds either here in our gorgeous town or within a very short distance.

At the top of the ride I wondered. "How can I help share the experiences that I have taken for granted all of my life?" That's when I realized that maybe Active Rain blogging is the solution. Maybe there are people on the web that have visited SLO and are longing for a virtual visit. So here is my new solution that will enable Active Rainers and visitors to experience the SLO life from a local. From now on I will be putting up a new adventure from SLO every week. Due to the fact that SLO has endless possibilities of activities I should have no problem getting out a new adventure for you folks, so stay tuned and see what I am going to come up with for this week. If you have an interest or hobby and you want to see how it measures up in SLO let me know and I would be glad to take the challenge and report it here on my blog.
