Dear Active Rain Family and Friends,

We were just published in the Idaho Statesman's Treasure Magazine April/May 2009 issue.

Before: "Cold and Sterile WCA Room"  After: "Warm & Inviting WCA Room"

Here is the link to the article:  "Makeover helps with healing and hope - Serena House Residents get a Welcoming Space"

This slick magazine only gets published 6 times per year.  The article featured our Redesign Giveaway Project that we did this past Winter for the Boise Women's and Children's Alliance.  The WCA hired a Media Specialist to generate press for this and their other projects.  They even included a couple of links to our homepage!

We gave two WCA liaison staff members a Dewey Color Consultation.  They liked the Brown Tones, which set the color palette for the entire Paint and Redesign Project.  Everyone just loved it!

BTW, we just returned from our wonderful and successful Mexico trip for Dan's Doctoral Seminar.  Our friend and mentor Dr. Vincent Kituku sent me an email of "Congratulations" while we were gone.  (More about our trip later.)  What an unexpected and fantastic surprise!

This is a miracle to finally get PR and exposure.  Some things are worth waiting for!

What nice exposure for you and what a great way of giving back to your community.

Hi Cathy,

Thank you for your words of encouragement.  I actually received an invitation to thank all of the contributors for the WCA's annual fundraiser.  So that was nice and greatly appreciated.

Hopefully, we will do more redesign giveaways to help other groups.  It is especially rewarding when you do a redesign or a staging project for those that can not afford your services in any economy!

Irene:  Wow... this is so wonderful.  What a difference that made.  The first picture is so cold... and setting it up as a warm and inviting "Welcoming Space"... it just looks so... ummm... "welcoming."  Great job.  Thanks for sharing...

Hi Karen,

Thank you for noticing.  I continue to receive positive words from the staff and others on the transformation we did at that shelter.  Now, they try to have various meetings in that room because it so warm and inviting.  Yippee, it was worth it all.  Thanks again for visiting!  We hope to do other projects throughout the year for them.
