For once the protesters had jobs. For once the protesters were dressed in actual clothing not some kind of dirty retro hemp robes. For once the protesters did not sing Kumbya. For once the protesters did not throw things at the police. Conservatives at a protest? Something new?

Whenever you read about any type of protest in this country it is always populated by the leftists. They love a good protest. I think that in actuality, many of them are hoping the The Grateful Dead will be playing at the protest or that someone will be giving away free money.

Conservatives are getting madder by the day about our new leaders out of control spending. The answer to every problem seems to be "spend more money". Yeah, we all know that President Bush spent like a drunken sailor. And for 8 years we were told by libs that he was spending way too much. Most of us conservatives did not like his spending and spoke up about it. Now our leader has quadrupled the national debt. Nice answer to a problem. Hey we owe 1 trillion dollars that we can't pay. Yeah we are mad about it but lets go ahead and increase it to 4 trillion. What a great business mind the man must have.  Of course, to the folks that solve every problem that way, the money they spend is not theirs. The sentiment out there in this country is anger and it is growing.

Just the fact that people with jobs had to take time off work to go and protest is big news. Add to that the fact that protest has always been the domain of liberals and leftists. This has got to be tough for the libs. I have noticed that many of them are trying to spin the Tea Party protests as something put on by some big evil corporations (as if corporations are populated by non-people or something). I even read an article that tried to convince it's readers that "this can't be a real Tea Party, for a real Tea Party has to do with taxation without representation". Go ahead you big govt loving libs and keep on trying to convince yourselves of that.

Even worse news for a lot of hard core lefties is that many of the Tea Parties were attended by loads of Democrats. Dems who probably voted for our new leader and now have realized that he is a sham. His hope and change equals no hope and no change coming back.

I Loved the Tea Party. I do not care who you are if you want to see a change( a real one) this was a great place to be!Beyond our party line we are all Americans of the United States of America. How blessed are we to be able to do this!

I hope the effort does not get tossed aside.  I hope they are listening to the cries.  I wonder if some of these protestors were the ones who voted for Obama?

Kevin,

I don't think the protest had should be made about liberals or Conservatives.  I'm sure the Conservatives love the idea of signing their name to it but they're not any better.

What the focus should be on is a government's inability to function properly on both sides.  The corruption and decay that has festered into something that is no longer "by the people for the people."

It's got nothing to do with party lines and until people are willing to drop the bloated mess that both sides have worked tirelessly to create and take back their government we're going to continue the downward spiral.

The sad thing is - all this fuss over the tea party but nothing will  change and the same hacks that got us here will get re-elected. Nancy Pelosi will be back, Barney Frank, Arlen Specter, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters - you'll see those same names tjhere next year and the year after.

Kevin, before you delete this comment because you apparently think you have cornered the market on free speech, let me remind you of the hundreds of thousands who have shown up year after year in Washington to protest wars.  Those people work, have families, wear mainstream clothes, and dont sing kumbaya. In fact thousands of them have worn or are still wearing military uniforms.  YOU sir should be ashamed of yourself, the only thing you left out of this blog is the word ghetto.  In your dreams will 12 million people ever turn out for your right wing charades.  70% of the people in this country whole heartedly disagree with you and others of your ilk.  How dare you slam the American people by your rhetoric, especially veterans who have been there done that and have more of an idea what constitutes a protest than you ever will!  You can delete my comments and remove me from your  little group, BUT you cannot silence my voice!

Every single one of us should email our Representative and our Senator regularly until we get change.  It's not over for me.  I'm still voicing my opinion and will continue to do so.

Kevin - as Neal Boortz stated last night, as long as this is a beginning. We cannot let the energy subside.

Terry - again, another unsubstantiated figure, what 70% of the people in this country disagree with what. And just what is the ilk of those that showed up for this national event? Oh, but that's right, by your own words you don't have time to listen, much less provide a coherent and substantiated answer.

What a HUGE success!! I listened to talk radio the whole way home from the San Antonio Tea Party and was listening to people calling in with amazing stories from all over the country. I have been renewed in the Hope of the American people.

Now the work of keeping this alive and praying Americans have awaken and are ready to be active and get educated on what our Local and Federal politicians are really doing and if they are serving with a "Servants Heart" or with a need for power!

My prayer is that more Servants will be elected!!

I was in San Antonio, in the middle of almost 20,000 right wing extremist yesterday and never felt so safe and felt so much pride and hope in the American people.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Well then Kevin you must think little of your fellow veterans who turn out en masse alongside jobless people dressed in hemp singing kumbaya.

Alice, according to all the sites that are quoting numbers, you are off by about 15,500 people.  Sorry.  Sometimes when in the midst of a crowd it can seem like more.

Sorry Terry,

I was there, and the numbers not just in San Antonio but around the country were amazing. You just stay in your little bubble and believe what you want. Americans are mad and it is across party lines.
