New Hampshire, ranked lowest crime rate in the Nation Again.
The data compiled to produce this 2009 report by CQ Press
was gathered nationally by using the UCR (uniform crime reporting).
The statistics presented, were based on: murder, rape , robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and Auto theft, and the calculations were simply a result frequency, percent, rate and change compared to past years and all states overall ranking.
New Hampshire, Reports the lowest murder rate in the nation, and among the lowest two states in Rape and assault in the U.S. The Northeast in general fairs very well compared to the rest of the nation with Vermont and Maine in second and third place for the lowest crime rates in the nation.
Robbery rates nationally average 143 per 100,000 citizens for all states with New Hampshire at just 33 and Nevada at the top of the list with 270 reports per 100,000 citizens.
The New Hampshire Advantage: Highest S.A.T. Scores, Highest percentage of health insured citizens in the U.S., Lowest un-employment rates, and among the highest percentage of college educated residents in the United states. Add these bonuses to the list: no broad based sales tax, no state income tax and 700,000 acres on White Mountain national forest for outdoor recreation and you have found a winning combination.
Grafton County, Lincoln New Hampshire, the second largest town in the state but featuring 95% of the land area in the White Mountain National Forest preserve (undeveloped).
