At a recent working dinner meeting of several top producing agents in the South Broward real estate market, one of the participants asked me why I stay with RE/MAX? They followed up with, “If you know that it’s less expensive to be with [another brand], why don’t you move? My answer is simple. I don’t see any national advertising from the other brand. I get a charge out of seeing the RE/MAX commercials on TV and hearing them on the radio. I enjoy passing the billboards on the highway! I like when my kids were singing the company jingle at 3 years old. I like that whenever they see a hot air balloon, any hot air balloon, they point up at the sky and scream, “Daddy, RE/MAX!” I figure I’m paying a bit more, but I get “perceived” value by sticking with this brand. I’m not sure the grass is always greener!
Funny, what a Brand loyatly does. I was with RE/MAX when you had to explain to people what it was...
Long live the Linigers...they changed the industry.
Selling yourself is crucial to your business. If you left Re/Max tomorrow, do you believe for a second that it would effect the amount of business you actually do?
I agreed with Scott. Once you establish yourself in an area I don't think it matters who you hang your license with. Customers are loyal when taken care of, it doesn't matter to them who you work for.
Brand recognition works when you are the brand. When you live in an area where everyone is the brand, it can work against you.
Denver is RE/LAX country.
One day I woke up, analyzed my business and discovered, it comes from my efforts. Not a big balloon. Although I do love the pretty balloon. Always will.
Funny story...
Doug & I were in Napa Valley last year with some friends for a wonderful vacation. We went for a balloon ride over the valley. Guess what balloon they put me in?? Yep a RE/MAX balloon. We had a great laugh about it. Ironic! I ended up giving the photo to my broker. ;)
Paying that little bit more to be with a franchise like RE/MAX does payoff since brand recognition is so important with consumers.
