Ok, maybe this is a bit of a rant but it's got to be said.

Be careful with where you get your information!!!

Beware of real estate misadvice

I was reading a blog recently and the author shall remain nameless to protect the not so innocent, but this agent was giving advice on Search Engine Optimization.

Now maybe it was something that was written by someone else and reworked by this agent, but here is the kicker: This agent's website wasn't optimized at all.

This agent's site did not come up for most keywords that it should have.

This agent wasn't even on the first page for anything in google (other than their ActiveRain Post!).

It got me to thinking...with so much information out there, BUYER BEWARE.

Maybe it would be best to just follow the old Ronald Regan axiom: "Trust, but Verify" before following anyone off a cliff....

Very good info to be sure. I have had a similar revelation this past week, and it has made me a bit uncomfortable to say the least.

Hi Ron - We'll read a lot of information from a variety of people on not only Active Rain but other blogs. We have to take the time to decide the validity of the information we get from these posts and at the very least verify the information.

Ron, you've just identified one of the pit falls of the Internet. Don't believe everything you read. The Ronald Reagan quote makes good sense. Thanks.

Great advice to be had! I like to check, double check, and check again before I throw out too much cash for things.

Michael, I saw a cartoon once that said "I can't come to bed right now, someone on the internet is wrong". Lots of information out there an not all of it is good.

Donna, you can do too much checking but due dilligence is always a good idea!
