She has done it okay. She has already started placing her pointer signs, as most realtors do, in violation of N.C. Statutes, in the D.O.T. Right of Way. Well some of her signs have been removed by D.O.T. and also by the volunteer group, T.R.A.S.H [Trash Removal Along State Highways]. She placed her signs in violation of this State statute which is a misdomeanor that carries a fine. The Burke County Board of Realtors, where she is probably still Secretary, was notified about the signs picked up by T.R.A.S.H. and were told they could come by and pick them up at their convinence but as of this date, have failed to do so. In the mean time Ms. Lay swears out a criminal summons on the T.R.A.S.H. president for "stealing" her sign. She was informed where it was and that she could come get it...if her co-worker, Kathy Olsen informed her and the other members. Kathy obviously did inform the members or Ms. Lay would not have know that T.R.A.S.H. had her sign and where she she could file these rediculous charges. Charges that are based on nothing more than Ms. Lay placing herself ABOVE the law and putting her signs out illegally. Is she so lazy that she couldn't take 4 or 5 more steps and place them legally? It seems that most realtors think this law doesn't apply to them when it actually applies to everyone.
Something to think about here. Word of mouth can make or break a business...you should consider that Ms. Lay before you start pointing fingers and making false accusations on a life long citizen of North Carolina. Word gets around and it isn't always good, that's how it works.
