I've been asked a lot lately: What am I doing for Earth Day? What are my goals for Green Drinks Pueblo Style? What am I doing to improve the condition of the planet?

My answer is almost always the same, I'm doing my part. If I inspire others to do their part then I must be doing something right. If one more person doesn't throw a soda can out the window because of something I've said or done then I've done some good. I don't want a trophy, accolades or acknowledgments. But I also don't want criticism if I screw something up or have a differing opinion.

Recently on Good Morning America they talked about the stimulus package and green jobs. But the focus on the jobs not on the green. In my opinion it's OK to focus on the jobs, we NEED the jobs right now! Is the green motivation in the right place or does it matter?

Does it matter what your motivation is if by definition and consensus you are doing the right thing?

My mission isn't to save the planet. My mission is to influence others into doing the right thing.

Dena, It surprises me that I still speak to clients who are redesigned/renovating and are not aware of healther ways and materiels to use.  I hope, too, to help inspire them about healthier environments.

If all of us would start doing a few more of the right green things than the mission wouldn't be so difficult. All the same keep up the work Dena.

Dena, the green motivation is the best motivation.  If Obama can get jobs created in the green industry, we are beginning to move forward in our need to green up the country.

Colorado has recently gotten some very much needed snow and rain. These trees are just fine and enjoying a healthy doze of moisture. So much for me being the "green lady" the storm brought lots and lots of wind. I've been out collecting my recycling that blew all over the property!
