What I love about the internet is that you can find just about anything you want to know about. Blogging allows us to share who we are, and gives potential Metro Detroit real estate buyers and sellers to learn about me.
I am sitting here relaxing in front of the TV watching the Red Wings playoff game. (Go Wings!!!) It was another beautiful day here in Metro Detroit. It got up to 70 degrees. I spent most of the day working on my ponds and my gardens.
I grew up in the landscaping business. I spent a lot of time when I was young at a Uncle's who owned a landscaping business. I was cheap labor for him. Anybody that had a parent or relative that owns a family business knows what I mean.
I worker for a dollar an hour when I started working. But I have to thank my Uncle Bob for giving a good work ethic. He worked me like a dog no matter how young I was. He just expected me to be able to do it. In fact he just put me in a truck showed me how to shift and I was on my way. You learned on your own.
After 10 years working with him you could say I have green in my veins. I still love planting and designing yards. I just wish I had more time to spend in my own yard. But today I accomplished a lot. I cleaned the beds, uncovered the ponds ( My Koi are alive....I only lost one this year). We have to cover the ponds with netting because of all the leaves. And my ponds freeze over because of the sub freezing temperatures during the winter. I have a small heater that keeps a hole about 2 feet wide open..
Here's a small glimpse of my Livonia back yard in lat to e summer.
Lots of work sometimes but it is great to relax on the patio and watch the ducks that fly in use the ponds in the spring. I just hate when the Herons fly in, thinking they have a free meal. Someday when I really have time to get my yard in shape I will do the Livonia garden walk
