Speechless Sunday - Last Day for Skiing at Red Lodge Mountain

By
Education & Training

Today is the last day for skiing at Red Lodge Mountain resort.  I am headed to the mountain but I decided to mark this occasion by posting a photo of Red Lodge Mountain.

The mountain resort will be getting ready for golf soon.  You can check out their website at http://www.redlodgemountain.com/  to start planning for a golf outing or vacation in Red Lodge.

Today being Sunday, I normally would post a Speechless Sunday photo with my copyright and signature underneath it.   However, I made the decision that I will start posting a description with my photos to give the online community more details about the photo.  I hope you will still find this and future Sunday photo posts Speechless but will enjoy the added descriptions.

Here is a photo of Red Lodge Mountain taken from Highway 78 on April 10, 2009.   Not only did I want to capture the east facing slopes of Red Lodge Mountain (top of the mountain) but I also wanted to capture the beauty of the blue sky and the cumulus clouds.

Take a ride on a board for me!  Didn't get out at ALL this year, even though we planned to... maybe next year, since our 5 yr. grandson took lessons this year!  I can stick to the bunny slopes with him, since it's been a while...

Gerry your posts are such a treat!  This is a gorgeous photo and I got a big chuckle out of the lawn decorations and the moose chase.  Fabulous photos one and all.

Mary,

I did enjoy the last day of skiing of the 2008-2009 season on Red Lodge Mountain.   Thanks.

Sharon,

Paradise indeed.  They actually have a trail named "Paradise" as a reminder to people.   One motto I try to apply is "Carpe Diem" which means enjoy/seize the day.  I did seize the opportunity of getting one final day of skiing before the ski season ended.

Lou,

Thanks.  Good luck and success to you too.

Harrison,

I soaked up lots of clean mountain air on that day and I am grateful for the air quality of where I live.  Thanks for dropping by and for commenting.

Mike and Sheryl,

Mahalo!   Thank you for the positive feedback.  Fishing season is right around the corner and I am looking forward to it.

Darren

Thanks.  I love watching white clouds moving through the big Montana sky and especially on a nice and sunny day.

Cheryl,

I have not tried the board yet (just skis) but their plenty of boards on the final day.   The bunny slopes come with an added magic carpet this year.

Charles,

Thank you for dropping by to comment.

Paul,

I am honored!   I thank you for taking the time to tabulate all the votes.    I love the sound of "Big Sky Gerry"!   I like to keep most of my posts simple and showcase the beauty of Montana and of Red Lodge.  It's good to be here!!

 Debi,

Thanks.  It's funny that you mentioned to me to have a blast.   The advertisement for the final two days of skiing at Red Lodge Mountain was Last Blast.   I sure made the most of it and yes, I had a blast.

Liz,

Thank you for your kind words.  It is a blessing to have ActiveRain to be able to share at the same time my passion for photography and for living in Red Lodge, Montana.   I am glad you also enjoyed the photos in my other posts.   Feel free to regularly visit my blog for more beautiful and/or funny pictures from Red Lodge, Montana.

Robert,

I am glad to be able to add some Big Sky clouds to the group "Clouds at ActiveRain (clouds atatched)" that you have created.   Thank you for the opportunity and for your positive feedback.
