MINE

Yesterday, I went outside in my little fenced in courtyard to water my plants and tend to my little garden. LO AND BEHOLD! One of my orchids bloomed and had been obscure from sight...hiding behind another for who knows...possibly a day or two? I immediately scooped it up and rushed it inside the house to show Gary...and Shadow (lol...she really is interested in all we do) and snap the shot of a once a year bloom.

With soft form and shape

Bloom colors spoke in volumes

A whisper ... lest be late

The wonder of floral hue

~~~~~~~~~
Have a wonderful Sunday....and an even better week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

EDIT:  After a question in a comment about what did Shadow think I thought to share with you all the wonder of the fauna with flora :) :)   When I caught this shot I also noticed that maybe there was some smell. I took a deep whiff and lo and behold my sensors were working!  I have no idea what happened when I sniffed yesterday.

Moral: If you stop to smell the flowers and there is no smell....try try again ....lol!

Dog sniffing orchid!

Beautiful, Sally! Is that a Cattleya? I've been waiting on some of mine to bloom too. I have some dendrobiums, and my favorite, phaelenopsis.

Poetic & Beautiful, Sis.  Our biggest challenge, whether by intellect or soul, is to properly convey nature's beauty in our terms.

WOW Sally - at first look, I thought it was an Iris, but an orchid that only gives you a short time to appreciate it?  Beautiful!  Thanks for sharing.

Woo Hoo, Beautiful Orchid. I noticed Kent's comment about enjoying these for just a short time.In the world of flowers, It is my experience that some Orchid blooms seem to last for months. I am not sure about this one look like a cymbidium and I am not sure what the life cycle is like. My white orchids seem to be bloom for an inordinate amount of time. Beautiful. Shadow seems to be impressed as well and seems to be smelling it.

Sally, wow what a photo. You are blessed. I have a home on the market now that has an attached green house. My seller grows orchards year round and they are so pretty. Like another past client they tell me Orchards are easy. But....in the right conditions.
